I have a year to come up with a solution.

We own 2 modern "justa" MINIs (neither an S)

Candidate will likely be my 2009 COOPER. 1.6L

Other option might be to buy a small truck, maybe get a trailer....I don't know.

Ideas?

Last option is just to drive a BINI to the event and be shunned by 3/4 of the attendees

So.... when is BMW coming out with a MINI PICK-UP version. Judging by the size of their latest variants (or is that deviants?) a pick-up version would be big enough to pull a trailer, or even carry a Mini.

Tim Bosse as Dean mentioned is the guy who makes the Mini specific tow dollys.

Last CMU event, Mini 53 Minis were towed with MINIS, in dollys from Miami to Tennessee, and back.  These folks routinely tow to events at the Dragon, CMU 52, Satellite Beach, etc.  I believe the dollys were made by a forum member.  Gonepostal will be able to answer your questions.  Freddy!!!  feel free to chime in here!

I've driven our Honda CRV, rental cars and flew in planes to get to mini meets.

I park what I drive near the other non-minis and have fun with the other mini owners and their mini who are there.

Mini meets are only partly about the cars. Mostly about the friends who are there.

Plus if I don't take a mini, then I get to ride in other minis and spend time with the owners.

CMU has the best policy, no BINIS but if we go on a road rallye, they can follow at a discreet distance-

Your Owners Manual will tell you the "braked/unbraked" (referrs to trailler type) towing capacity of your car.

My Traveller + trailler is right on (OK .... a tidge over) the legal towing capacity of my Golf diesel ... works fine for local runs.

Cheers, Ian

Shunned by 3/4 of the attendees? More like 7/8!!!!! HA!

Shunned, not for driving a BINI or Mini.. but hauling a Mini with a MINI is sacrilege:P

Mike ... I have driven to Mini Meets and Spring Things in the new MINI as well in the Classic. I usually switch off year to year. I have NEVER felt shunned by attending in the MINI ... Just say'n. Do what you want and don't sweat the so-called critics who may be there.

Paul Strieby and Tim Bosse both tow their classics with new BINIs. However instead of flat towing they use a tow dolly that Tim built.
