I agree with jedduh that you should buy a car that is already here and titled in the US.  Not sure how you got the 94 registered, and I am sorry to hear that it got smashed, but glad you survived the accident.  Cars can be replaced easier than people.  Anyway, I have a friend that emailed me last night that he wants to sell his Mini (which although not a 94) is a very good looking Mini and probably equally as good and similar spec to the Mini you have.  It is a Jap spec car, which means Air Conditioning and no rust.  It also has the full length Webasto sunroof installed.  If you want to see photos or more info on his car, please feel free to email me and I can forward them to you.

Cheers, Hugh

US

Courtney, Sorry for your loss.  I belive your heartache wont stop with just the accident. Do some research about importing cars from the UK ... Main point- USA customs requires cars to be atleast 25 Years old. Well hummm how were you driving a 94??

Beyond that, if you are not at fault for this accident , the other insurer company will be offering your a settlement value on your vehcile .   No matter if its registered as a 1970 1980 or 1990 whatever book value on a classic mini is rediculsly low. Prepare to have your feelings also hurt with a low ball value and offer for the replacement of your vehicle. Prepare to have backup documents for your vehicle including comparable cars for sale and their values... this will force the insurance to offer more on settlement.

Glad you are oK -  Strongly consider buying another car already in the USA.... US customs is very privy to "revinning".

Goodluck

Hello All,

I am desperately looking from help from those who are familiar with importing minis to the states. I was in a car accident recently. A man pulled a U-turn in front of me while I was going 45 miles an hour and was 50 feet away. Needless to say, my Arizona Blue Mini is a total loss. The front end of the car has been smashed. The firewall caved in when the engine smashed against it and the dashboard and front passenger compartment of the car have been compromised, and the frame of the car is bent and gapping and buckled. While I have not yet recieved my insurance estimate, it is very apparent that the car is destroyed. I am completely devastated about it, my heart is truly broken. I loved that mini so much. I am looking to purchase a new classic  mini OVERSEAS with the funds that I will recieve from the insurance company. If anyone would be willing to help me out or give me any information on how to pick up the new mini I am looking at that is located in the U.K., it would be greatly appreciated.
