Can't remember if the red one was Morris or Austin....if Morris....probably built within months Graham.
I've picked up a couple of MkI shells in the past
How is that car coming?!
I've been going through some old stuff lately.....found a few early riveted wheels.  osted here but nobody wanted them ( might of only been one actually...lol )...probably for safety reasons.
I've come across a few MkI/II bits recently... more coming and will post here.
One thing is a headlight dip switch...surface rusty but smooth function.....anyone?

My good friend Trevor here in the UK tells me that
"... the Home delivery Export Scheme enabled people to buy a car here in the UK tax free on the condition it was exported within a time limit ( I think either 6 or 12 months ). The car would be registered on UK plates with a yellow band around the border. I seem to remember a lot of guys in the Military doing it if they were being posted overseas. Obviously most were LHD but it depended what was specified.
So Spitz, I guess your car was an LHD export to Canada. Have you still got that liecence plate Spitz ?

The DGY series was issued June '62 to July '63 in London, so yours might be early '63.
Interestingly my book notes that the series was issued for "Home Delivery Export Scheme.
Interesting..... The plate came in the car ( can't remember if it was attached ), it is a Super Deluxe, left hand drive...no sign of it ever being RHD
