997 Cooper - the 998 cars went to 105.

If you want to sell it, I'm probably prepared to pay silly-money for it.

A marketing brochure in Paulo's collection shows that speedometers with trip odometers were offered for sale at the dealerships in Canada.  I have a similar unit, I suspect these were made around the end of the 997 Cooper run.

If you take a few speedometers apart, you will see that all of the chassis can carry the trip odometer.  Indeed they are identical to the much smaller units in MG Midgets or in MGBs.  Like the cars themselves, you can make a speedometer for a mini however you like.

1408 equates to a 3.78 final drive

(I seem to remember that 33EJB has a 100mph trip. I have a NOS one of those which I bought from my good friend Paul Lips a year before he was tragically killed. This one has its SN number which is 6404/02 and the TPM 1408).

Took this from the link you sent.

If it is mini...it would be from a Cooper ( or S ) as it's numbered to 100.
Maybe the Works cars, or Radfords etc. had the trip (?)

MK1 SpeedoWith Reset CableCan anyone give me any info on this Speedo, (MK1 Cooper). What was it used in?, was it an option or an aftermarket item?  Does the reset cable look like the correct one?, thanks
