In my experience, it is easier to replace an electrical than mechanical pump especially when engaged in long distance travel, thus this view was added to my general comment about electric pumps.  Some might disagree and are entitled to do so.

Mechanical pump has worked fine on the 1098 (as one did on the 998), but will be replaced with electrical pump when the 1293 goes into the Aussie Van (as it was when 1380 went into the sedan).

Just forward planning before longer trips.  Others might take a different approach...fair ball.

When Rick is saying that it is better than a mechanical pump in a thread where no one has mentioned a mechanical pump, I think he doth protest too much. The original poster asked about electric pumps, so I did not bother to chime in with the fact that a mechanical pump can supply a mild 1380.

Can't recall the brand.  But it was relatively inexpensive and much easier to re & re than a mechanical pump on the engine.  Jack up the rear, clamp fuel line from tank, disconnect wires/hoses, unbolt from mounting plate in rear subbie, bolt in new, connect wires/hoses, remove clamp...select a gear and off you go.

Where Rick says "remove clamp...select a gear" one really should take the car off the jack stands.

Been using the low pressure Facet cube #40171 with my HIF44 / stock 1275. No pressure regulator. No issues.

I use a Facet 40104N, it feeds my 1360 & 45 Dellorto carb fine, also worked fine when I had the 1412 stroker  and HS6 in there. I use NO regulator.

This pump is 1.5-4.0psi according to this chart-

//www.facet-purolator.com/cube-fuel-pumps.php

[edit] IMO it would work fine with an HIF44.

I was under the impression the HIF required a constant 2 psi.  My engine is a 1380- maybe 80hp.  It is not for track use.  The Facet "cube" is rated at 1.5 to 2.5 psi.  Its mod number through Pegasus racing supply is FAC 40163.  So, I was woundering if anyone had experience using that pump or another Facet electronic pump?-  Appreciate the advise.

marcschoen - I have successfully used a low volume SU electric pump and a silver top cylindrical Facet on my 1-3/4" SU equipped 1300 engine.  I did discover that at wide open throttle at the track for about 3/8 mile the low volume SU electric pump couldn't keep up with the engine use and would drain the float bowl.  The silver top Facet pump solved that problem.  Either should work fine for your setup if you're just driving on the street.  I can't speak about the small cube-shaped Facet pumps though as I haven't used them.

Edit - one comment though - I've always used an inline fuel pressure regulator since the pumps I've used have been too high pressure for the carbs.  I would suggest using one and set it to 2-3 psi.  Any more any you can damage the float assembly (ask me how I know).

All SUs require a low pressure fuel pump, so a 3psi pump is mandatory. The amount of fuel required is determined by the hp of the motor not the carb size. Unless you have a lot of hp the Facet pump should be more than adequate.

Does anyone know what electronic fuel pump would work with an HIF 44 carb.  Will a Facet 1.5 to 2.5 psi pump work?
