I mean who needs BOTH kidneys, but you may want to hang on to that one. Additionally that dark red one you initially posted is really sharp! What color is that?

I do believe that is candy apple red, Testors Model spray paint metallic red or even Honda Mini Trail red, looks good on all of them. "I don't usually like metallic paint jobs on old cars, but when I do, it's Candy Apply Red.."

ssuperfly since you're such a nice guy with such a beautiful family, I would never dream of showing you this link:

//www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/topic/140813-tmfs-official-10-wheel-thread-complete-with-pics/

However, it is unforgivable to show this link to anyone you wouldn't want meeting financial disaster.  Therefore I take it back, especially since it's about 80 pages of forum posts of all the Brit guys showing off their 10" combos.

Apologies to your lovely wife who'll start wondering where you're hiding in a day or so.

I only have a 998 at the moment - Right now I'm coveting 6x10 gunmetal/Anthracite minilite-look with my OEW car. I also may not want arches so which wheels w A008's can be fitted without arches? I sold my 10" aluminum Minilights last year like an idiot. If my car wasn't mostly OEW already I'd just get the S wheels already, I kinda like rosepetals but don't like em in black and haven't seen them in any other color. I saw Air2Air's car in person this weekend and really like the 6" wheel look but that means arches....He already sold his 5" wide minilites

I have these in 10":

Dunlops, nice looking wheel

Mamba's - mismatched 5" & 6" wide - would go with these except for the mismatched widths

2 x J.A.P's -5" (I gave away the one 6" I had for a sidecar build on a BSA)

(I have a set of gold spoke 13x7 Superlights for when I get more horsepower)

I have a set of 7x13's silver spray painted with OK A008's on them in the Bay Area if anyone wants to go big - for sale or trade for 10"

I have both sizes and they look to have the size difference on the inside part of the wheel. A Mini company in the UK (brain fart right now) did a Woody with a flare built into the wood kit.

Edit:

Maybe it was Somerford Mini.

Sure, pictures of arches are fine, really looking for a no-flare look that will move over to my Traveler when that's up n running - may convert to woody so no flares for that one.

I'm thinking a nice Orange with a Black top, and 10" wheels.

I have a set of ATS that I may get powdercoated.  I have 2 100+ haven't found more to make a set.  I also have 2 Cosmic's but they don't match.

I am learning to like the Rose Petals as I see them on a lot of Vintage style Rally look cars.

I don't want to add any flares and just retain the stock wheel wells with the crome trim on my MK-1

OEW with a gloss black roof and 4.5 possibly 5 inch Minilights or 3 piece SSR's with black centers.

Old English White on 50% of the car, red boot lid, primered steel flip front, primered a-panels, rusty hood..... it'll stay OEW probably because I won't have to paint jams, interior visables etc. Not looking to tear car down more than necessary - it'll need a respray, but just want to get it on the road!!!!! I like the almond green tho

What is a 50% OEW saloon? Old English White? What is the 50%?

I have almond green with old english white top with minilite 10x5 copies. I actually have 3 of one kind of wheel and 1 of another.  I would like 4 that match.  I like the look I have now.

I have also been looking at the rose petals, but they seem pricy.

As I get older I'm becoming a rose petal fan. There's a firm in the UK (bespoke) that makes modular wheels from stock wheels, sadly ( or luckily ) they weren't able to builD 3 piece modular wheels out of the rose petal. I really didn't want to run tubes so I guess it worked out. I do wish someone made wider than the 4.5" rims though, say 5 or even 6" wide. I have a book in Japanese with great pictures. There is a gray car that looks blue/gray that I think would make an awesome sleeper. It's rather elegant and a very clean look. I too like the gray/white or gray/black color combo.

I went though this same process completeing Alex's mini back in 01. I ended up buying 7 different sets of wheels with tires mounted and balanced before giving up. I bought them put a couple on the car took pics and removed them and put them back on E bay. I settled on a real set of Mini Lites 4.5 with 165 Falkins. The wife took one look at them and refused to drive the car for fear of curbing a wheel. I removed them sold and picked up a set of D1 Dunlops 5 X10 with 145 tires. They were just enough inside fender to suit me. I removed those for a set of 4.5 Cooper S wheels in OEW with 165 Falkins. Followed by the same wheel in wheel silver with 165s. I'm now riding on Rover 12s with 145s. The plan is to get another set of 4.5 MiniLife S offset wheels with Falkin 165s. The look I'm after the tire size I want and within the std fender profile. I have tried painting the spokes and two toneing wheels. Not having used my D1s for years I'm thinking about selling them. Steve (CTR)
