My problem is the cost. How much would it be to ship it to you and have your guy look at it? Maybe it will be cheaper to just get a new one.

Early bonnets are a bit rare I don't think you'll find one so easy, the one you have looks quite repairable to me I would take it to a good body shop and have them take a look. I'm up in the north bay and have a good metal basher I use, if all else fails put it in a box and send it up to me and I'll get him to take a look?

Yeah, what Dan said. The fender/wing was replaced and the bonnet squished in. The body guys here ( Nick or Dan Stoughton ) would perhaps agree that whoever 'repaired' it built up a ton of bondo to make it look straight, either on the fender or the bonnet.
Am I correct in saying you haven't blasted it yet? Is that some kind of temp primer job just to protect it before doing the surface prep?

In this pic, there appears to be some warbles, wrickles or somenting in the paint of the upper right corner (which would be the left front corner on the car). There is also a dark mark on the bracing, but the photo cuts it off. The photos are too low-res to enlarge to get a clear idea. Can you do pictures of that front corne and along the edge leading to the rear ( your enlargements are of the "good" edge) .It looks as if the bonnet was scrunched, then bondoed.
Mousy says the fender and apron are original, but how can he tell from that first photo (or does he know the car)? The fender could have been side-smacked, distorting the bonnet early on in the car's life, and the fender replaced, but the bonnet not.
.
"Hang on a minute lads....I've got a great idea."

coots can you take a detailed pic of the underside? Let's get an idea of what was done there.

I would like to just replace the bonnet but that's another 250.00 to 300.00. I just don't have that right now. I am trying to get the bonnet fit so I can paint it. Just another set back. I want to do it right so....... I just want to get it on the road. Thanks for the advise

Normally I would say you have a good template using the wing to TIG extra sheet there. However the problem is the flange and possibly the x-brace have been cut.
Since you have a valuable 1960 car others would have to weigh in here whether to repair that bonnet or buy a new one. As a compromise, you could find a trashed bonnet to replace that section with.
I don't know if the x-brace is attached with spot welds that would make even that section replace difficult though. I would just get a new bonnet.

I don't doubt it. Does anyone know how I can fix it?

Bonnets are the same for both, but boy does that bonnet look wonky!! I think it's probably been bent and repaired, well somewhat repaired anyway......................
