Good to know!  I was thinking of getting the "tropical" fan to help with high way speed heading issues, but perhaps just installing the fan correctly would help!

The MC you refer to would work for you.  In the photos your cooling fan is on the wrong way.

Mike, You're right, it would have been an easy restoration. Sadly my travelling companion sent it to the scrapyard.

I would confirm that your master cylinder IS bad before throwing away good money. A simple way of testing is to remove the line from the top and install a bleed nipple , 3/8" NF Most front brakes use this size. With the nipple installed , you may have to bleed a little air out but once the nipple is tight, the pedal should be high and firm.If the pedal slowly sinks , this indicates the master is bypassing internally and would need new seals .

Mousy

If you look at page 93 of JP's book it shows an Innocenti 1300 engine bay and you can see that the master cylinder is the dual circuit GMC159 or 160 type. The one that John says has the Cooper S master is the 998. I have some in stock here in the UK.

Hey All,

Just finished having my front twin leading brakes replaced but still getting almost no pedal feel.  To the point that the mechanic says he would not feel safe letting me take it home.  He thinks the master cylinder is bad.  I want to make sure i order the right part for my 1973 Innocenti. The "Original Mini Cooper and Cooper S - The Restorer's guid" by John Parnell states that Innocenti Minis came with Cooper S type master cylinders.  Based on photos of my car:

Is this the correct part?
