No. Rule of thumb is you need at least 10 lbs per 1000 rpm.

This is why I'm not a professional mini builder. haha. I know there were a few times when I was in traffic in Dallas and I was starting to squirm watching that oil pressure get down to 20-25 psi. Never hit 20, but it was enough to worry me. Glad to know I still had 5psi before I needed to really worry.

yes...15lb+ at idle is fine.....you're worrying too much Mty ;-)   ( unless your idle is over 1K of course )

15 at idle? That seems a bit low to me. I never liked seein it below 30. 25 psi was acceptable to me if I was running it hot and at idle. I would be worried at 15 psi.

Check the plunger that it's not getting hung up on anything and that it's seating well. Mine got caught up a few times and wouldn't ever seat right until I tok it out and polished it up. Then it would seat up. After that I saw aroung 80psi on a cold start, 60-75 while driving (hot or cold) and idle never below 25 even on the hottest runs.

Robster, exactly.  Just below the 75 psi mark.

Instead of apologies, why don't you just hold the phone horizontal?

Interestingly, you have what looks like you have a rubber chicken* on the parcel shelf. And, oddly enough, several of the suggested videos that show up on that link are for deep fried chicken in a pressure cooker. Coincedence? I think not.

Me? For what I've seen of your Mini, I would just leave it be. I've seen folks with far worse oil pressure drive for years. You've got plenty of other places to spend time/money.

*In some circles, a rubber chicken is almost a requirement for Mini ownership.

Making popcorn -

Also, make sure the engine is fully warmed up.  Any oil temp gauge installed?

Could also be a stuck oil pressure relief valve.  But, you knew that already -

Not unless you're leaking oil out faster than you can pour.....

Could be a worn oil pump, rod or main bearings.

So, how low is it at idle and speed?
