Nice. Looks like someone may have fiddled with it in the past and didn't put the thing back right.

What other lies do you suppose he told you?

What others have said.

Which car is faster ?

Your's or my boss's ?

It doesn't go 213 mph (although he'd tried).

Do you know what time it is?

(Time to send your speedo out for repair !)

Look a the top at "sticky's" , some ideas where to send it.

Or take your gauge bezel off and try to refit the stop needle, and if you bugger it even more, see above.

Three options; read it the friday funnies that might change its mood; second I think I saw a speedo on CL or maybe Ebay that looked like it had a sense of humor it was pegged at 70mph at least it died happy,or lastly place a smiley face on its lens it may not change its mood but might make you smile. Cheers

it would take a total of 532.82 HP to run a mini at 213mph. If you would like to discuss this information further, please start a different thread. I would love to talk about drag coefficients, rolling resistance, and all that jazz.

Robster (assume it's really you).  You first post was very good as a question for the members of this forum.  Take the advice from the first post responses please.  Your second post should not have been posted.  You got the answer to fix what you said was the initial issue.  Done.  You have an issue, responses for correction were advised.  Go fix it.  (and then say thanks, it worked or whatever in a few days when you have done the work).

Your second post was irrelevant. Completely.  If you want to claim your mini (or you were told) has accomplished 213 mph, start a new thread.  I think even you know that's not reasonable, feasable, possible.  So don't waste our time with the 'sideline' comments please.   It's only irritating.

Let us know how the speedo fix ends up. Oh, and btw you really don't need to repost on this until you have fixed it, or have another question on how to fix it after you've pulled it apart.  Remember, thie is a forum, not a chat room.

The fastest speed with a Mini racer was recorded at 130 mph on the Conrod Straight at Mount Panorama, Bathurst, NSW, Australia.  213 km/h maybe...

I suppose it is possible that your mini went so fast that you went back in time!  LOL...

Little thin pin that holds the needle at zero appears to have come out.  Taking the rim and glass off the speed is actually pretty easy... take your time...

It's a speedometer

Seems that the stop pin is missing on your speedo. The only wa to fix this will be to disassemble the speedometer and install a new pin. Or to find your pin which has fallen out. It's likely sitting at the bottom of your housing. See the picture below in full size in order to view the pin I'm talking about.
