It was part of the Italian Job tour - www.italianjob.com -which took us on a 300 mile lap round France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy and back to Blighty over the top of the Alps (instead of using a tunnel) and up though France.

One of the days out was at Monza, with timed special stages in the paddock before lunch, and then the opened up the banked track specially for us.
The Chief Engineer of Monza owns and drives an 850 Mini in regulation rallies, and he led the cars round.  I'm guessing experience counts for more than BHP, because the (allegedly standard) 850 left us all for dead.

Cool video Alex.

I've been by but haven't seen any races there.

Would have been my wifes "home track" if her parents had stayed in Italy. Lucky for me most of her family is still there and get to visit as time and money permit, fairly often.

On my bucket list to watch a race at Monza and Imola, and other tracks in Europe.

Thanks for posting this, SxS

Just want to point out that's not me at the beginning of the film - it's my mate Stringer who set up his Go-Pro in one of the other Union Jack cars and then over-cooked it at the chicane...
