here are the adjustment pages from the 1100 autobook. Make sure the rod to the governor isnt too tight and holding the carb butterfly open

Are you sure it's getting up into fourth?

There is a technique to adjust the shifter....it's explained in the Haynes and similar manuals....too hard to explain in a post.
There is an adjustment on the rod I mentioned also.....nowhere near my Haynes right now unfortunately

There are others on here far better versed on the auto box...hopefully they'll drop by

This is my first mini (1989, 998, auto) and after the first few drives I noticed some high RPMs at higher speeds.  It's shifting into all gears but need a sanity check.  My boss checked his '91 and is running 3000 at 90kph.  I'm heard kickdown rod?  Anything else I need to check?
