Velocity/Tony/et al., I posted an active link to a scooter that Tony and Vanessa have for sale on the Internet.  If, by chance, you're and embarassed about not wearing appropriate attire for the occasion, I believe it'd be prudent to try to contact Tony and recommend that he change the photograph that the dealership is hosting in its advertisement.  That Vanessa appears in the same advertisement, well, what can one do.

The funny thing, though, is that Vanessa looks to be having a great time and this guy Tony looks terrified to be on the scooter.

Probably because he has been "wrenching" on it (and i use that term loosely with Vobster).

BTW Rooster the temp sender unit is in the thermostat housing, that 1275 engine was probably an spi unit with the temp sender on the inlet manifold.

This forum Officially SUCKS  -- We now have to be skeptical of new members and , perhaps do our own research if a new member is infact legit and real....Well now google image search helps. Some members have learned to not reply to many posts - or converstate with VELOSTER... but others just wont stop and keep feeding the troll. I have very well kept my distance - but like driving by a car wreck - its impossible not to look... Well in the end- it does NO GOOD for this community and this business enterprise.  I have kept my distance from any Veloster posts or comments but here the proof is in the interwebs.....

  After watching this new enthuististic member Sue appear - OK Great Welcome !!! If your real...--- but hey - she filled in her little Avatar Picture- but no Location....     Location is  MUCH easier to complete vs the picture-- Picture took me 3 years to figure out!    We all know RobVeloster knows how to create and change the Avatar picture easily.

And to a comment above above--Yellow with Green Mini -regarding the  Jaloplink Claims = Humm Thats true too. Article on Jaloplink posted  3/11/14

//jalopnik.com/man-buys-fiancees-dream-car-for-adorable-gearhead-prop-1541350225

And there;s a video - of the car - of the couple - in the link //youtu.be/0usUIT8WVeA

March 8th 2014 - video on YouTube  - Fiance has a BMW m5 Clearly - Who breaks up with that person!!!???? LHD: in the video for sure. and as mentioned = 75Mini by the video - Jalopink --- 65 Mini by Sue's account.

Video posted-- Silverbullitt850 -  hey he has a bunch of YT videos-- Track days at RRR == Where'? RRR-  Robeling Road Raceway - Bloomingdale GA -- PREtty far from Sue these days... Arizona.   So Iguess the divorce made them relocate. No facts there to prove or dis prove.

- Ok further down - Engine Picture-Thanks Sue! -Great observation 1275 we see!  - RHD vs LHD - No air filter - no temp sender ( thanks velo for advising that)

But To me the color looks off- but hey- upgrades are good and picture is "aged" by Sues account.

  But hey - google is good- knows all about us:  but dang- -Benzer25 , linked Here- sure has a simular looking engine posted...!

//www.cardomain.com/member/benzer25/

Ive been really annoyed - by Velo,Robster in every way and I feel this is him AGAIN, in another attempt to appear smart, helpful but not at all.

This place feeds Robster Velo Luke all the openness to create drama - no fact checking, comments to keep people in a tizzy.

Sure - it is just the Internet : dont take it seriously - it should be the wild wild west- but this also is killing my mental reputation of MM.  No control of their own forum....then there must be no control of their business or expectations of how to treat a customer. I guess let em do what they want right???

Sue - if your're real - Please contact this vendor Mini Mania and ask direct questions.  Internet diagnosis will send you down a path of confusion...

  Reach out locally - Find some car shows - or cars and coffee- very good chance to find a local mini there - Or MG- Triumph - Jaguar - all BRITISH! - ask questions - Most Love To HELP - or can reccomend a good car garage for the british repairs. Get an estimate from a mechanic and dont trust an Internet diagnosis

 The shear fact that many members need to WARN a new member about one other guy ( known as Veloster) is damage to the community-  WHo To trust...

The car looks to be both RHD (in the locker) and LHD master cylinders.

Apologies for the 'suspicions' if you are 'genuine' - we've been plagued by a beligerant idiot since September...  He's tried to repair his shifter mechanism with a bicycle handlebar grip and a piece of soda bottle.  His cooling fan is on backwards, he's got a screendoor spring on his clutch lever and the list goes on and on...  He's been rude and crude.  Maybe it's just me and my contempt for this thicky, but I wouldn't let this 'expert' anywhere near my car.

Story is from March. Yet here the woman has been divorced for over a year. I think we need to focus on relationships.

Pictures look like a mini used in a marriage proposal that turned into a story on Jalopnik. Should be easy to track down the persons involved and make certain this is not a troll fabrication. Story isn't too old.

Based upon Tony's (aka. Velocity, azBob, Robster, Coolsterr, Pacific Luke, Luke) own mini, approach to problem solving, barnyard bailing-twine & duct-tape repairs, I'd advise that you'd be best off to try to keep him far away from your mini.

I'm sure there are plenty of mini owners who use a logical approach when diagnosing problems, proper mini parts and generally safe practices who live north of Yuma amd will be willing to help you.

And yes, you can work on your mini.  Just need a few tools, a local club member can lend you specialty tools if required.

I moved here from Tucson after I got married and became a souvenier.  Had a house on East Edison, just south of Speedway blvd.  Later, I moved closer to Oracle road.  Tucson was great; loved it.

OK....from the pic it looks like you have a 1275 A+....lucky you! ( There should be a number on a metal tag below spark plug #1....closes to the radiator...this will confirm the engine type )
You have an HIF type SU carb, probably HIF44, but possibly 38.
Nice tidy engine bay, perhaps painted along the way(?)

On the clutch issue, it could just be stuck. Start the car in neutral. Let it get good and warm. Push it outside and point it in a safe directon The start it in gear. It could break the "stuck" loose.

Ah, thank you Shrimps,  sounds like I've been doing it wrong, I'll go out and try with the clutch out but that sounds a little weird...

Thank you everybody for the kind assistance, wish you were all in my neighborhood!

When is the last time it had gas put in it?  If you've had no problem in the past starting it every few months it's possible the fuel has finally given up.  In that case you'll want to remove what's in there and put in fresh.  You can probably siphon most of it out.  This method works great.  Just have a container big enough to catch all the old gas.  Tank capacity is probably 6.6 US gallons so you can guess how much you've actually got.

Also about your location; a "feature" of this forum software is if you didn't initially fill in your location when you registered, adding it later won't show up.  If you want to reach out to somebody near you just start clicking on people's avatar and you may find somebody close by.  You can then contact them directly offline.

Oh and lesson 1 on starting a classic Mini: neutral with the clutch OUT.  ushing in the clutch while starting is hard on things.  Also grinding noises are bad.  It sounds like you've got a clutch adjustment issue and/or clutch slave cylinder issue.  I'd work on the starting issue first.  Just remember (always) leave it in nuetral with the clutch out when attempting to start.
