Wow, now that you date it I think I recall and it was a long time ago. If you consider I get 3 to five boxes each week not hard to forget a few. I'm sure I thanked you then as well as now. In fact I spent the morning emailing people who I have bought from last week to let them know parts arrived. I also like to hear from them when they get paid. Send me an email if there is something you need and I will see what I can do. I believe that tranny is long gone. Steve (CTR)

Lol...we'd need to borrow the Delorean to go back ten years

But don't you have to wait for the current greeter at WalMart to die before you can get his job?  I thought you were talking about age but as you are talking about "toys" - in the end the one with the most toys wins, and it sounds like you may have the most toys.  The other thought is - in the end you're dead.  Enjoy the cars while you can.

It's not about being old, I never felt old until recently. Just a couple of years back I sprinted from the pre grid at VIR to the concession stand and back to fetch Nick Swift's sun glasses on a 100 plus degree day. I still cut and split fire wood for the stove. Having two 850s, a 997, 998 , 1071, 1000 Inno Cooper and a Moke project waiting on me. Two new rolling start dog gear sets, 17 DCOEs who knows how many SUs. Heck I found a drawer full of 7.5 Brembo disc I had cryogenic treated still in the boxes today. It's ok I still like buying over selling. Steve (CTR)

Steve, tone it down one storage unit at a time so not to overwhelm yourself. After most of it is cleared out build a 40 x 40 workshop in your backyard (room permitting), it may be a lot more fun to come and go as you please with a lot less overhead. Just a thought.

Hey Mike Ehinger...if you decide to have a clear-out sale, please remember to call me.  I'll camp out the night before to be first in line...

I'm also looking forward to not having any more car stuff one day.  Got 6 or 7 classics and garages full of spares. Maybe a package deal to a group of buyers who can split it up.

With all your snow days you have had lately, sounds like cabin fever talking.

Well.....I sent you a free 1128 transmission a few years back.

Feel free to send some of your excess bits free right back to me ....that may free up a bit of space

Same thing happened to me in December as well. Maybe a joint yard sale?

If I were you, I'd simply finish what you've got; build the bodyshells into decent cars that could be sold without going 'gourmet' or extravagant.  Just stage 1 level daily drivers that you could allow the buyers to tart-up with all the go-fast bits.  That'll clean up a few standard gearboxes and engines, along with all sorts of ancillaries.  You'd be surprised at how much ordinary stuff you'd use in the process.

After you're out of 'new projects', then you could consider downsizing to accomodate the specialized jobs.  Offer a few bits for sale or trade from time to time to help offset the costs of building the cars.

Back in early december I decided to take a saturday and sunday and clean up the shop. I ended up spending all of december and part of january and I'm still not satisfied. It's clear I have lost my mind, I have about a dozen or more of everything mini I could buy in the last 10 years. I often think about an Ebay store but don't care much for Ebay. I need to be honest with myself. Son Alex has no interested in cars and I don't see that changing. I'm 65 and as much as I love what I do all my race customers and hung it up. Every time I go to Walmart I think Gee I could be a greeter. Having 5500 sq ft is nice but the over head is getting to me. I could do engines and trannys in a much smaller space. Just thinking out loud. Steve (CTR)
