Calling NC / SC DMV would be quite fruitful too...

I don't know the answer, but when it comes to title issues in NC, Bill Cox knows more than anyone what can and can't be done. I'd suggest contacting him for his advice/assistance.

Non-mini but anyone know if there is a way to see who a car from NC or SC is titled to? In Fl we can look up the Vin# to see if a car is still registered, But a Mustang i'm looking at was bought years ago from someone in NC/SC and the guy didn't put the title in his name as he said the car was not road worthy at the time. And guess what he has moved and lost the title! I won't buy a car without a title but if he can have the original owner appy for a lost title then it could be worthwile. I searched a little bit but didn't see any info, I have the vin# but couldn't find a way to search it.
Thanks,
SirCoop
