OK...good to know.  You should go into your profile and change your flag.  This way, at a glance, someone can tell where you are. ( what continent at least ) Help may be close-by

No iam a transplant Matt. I'm here in the US for the last 35 years originally a Brummie from close to your neck of the woods i believe Warwickshire area.

Edit: I was assuming Parrot was here in the US but that may not be the case.

Odd.......a fellow is talking about MOT whilst flying the US flag ( do they have MOT?)  .... And a Union flag talking like they're in the US ?????

Are you in the US Parrot?  Are you in the UK Mal?

Chances are pretty slim that you would find the correct vin number but if you do what do you do then ? You can't just have new UK paperwork sent over and a new vin number made and get it registered, in most States you have to show where it came into the country and went through the various channels especially with imports afaik. Unless you have all that paperwork your best legal way to do it might be to get an assigned vin number from the dmv in the State you live in.

I have a feeling that Parrot's command of English may only slightly exceed his command of things Mini.....

Parrot, if you could post some pictures of your car then the Board may be able to identify its possible age and beginnings - and then someone might be able to tell you where to look (on the body of the car) for identification numbers.....

Over time cars built in different countries (as were Minis) had numbers (the VIN) applied in different places.. we need your help to help us help you....

Cheers, Ian
