The IMM 2015 in Lithuania is wrapping up...but instructive that the Lithuanians campaigned at IMM in Italy in 2013 to win the vote to host IMM this year, then went to the IMM in the UK last year to continue to market the event...so more than 2 years in the planning.

Here, the hosting of Mini Meet West depends on a relatively small number of people in any of the western North American clubs, who will dig in and research hotels, sites, venues and be ready a year ahead with hotel contract, event locales committed etc.

Typically, from my experience we start out 18 months in advance to get a workable "plan" in shape and key contracts in place so we can be confident on extending an invitation to come to a Meet a year later.

The long history of Mini Meets West from 1973 to the present is a testament to volunteers getting it done at so many different locations from Arizona in the south to British Columbia in the north - Long Beach, Squaw Valley, Whistler, Lake Tahoe, Florence, Vallejo, Bend, Penticton, Flagstaff, San Ramon, Prescott & Prescott Valley, Victoria to name a few from the last 20 years.
