Nice! You should make up a bunch and sell them.

As suggested, I purchased a couple of internally threaded standoffs from Grainger, and had a friend turn them down so the outside diameter matched the original bolts (so they'd fit through the airbox holes and metal locating thingy inside the box).

A trip to home depot netted a neoprene washer, and chrome allen head bolt and washer, and put together, they look pretty good - I think the allen bolt is cleaner than the original wingnut approach.

i'd do the same, this is a very clever idea, who would buy a $14 nut???? not me!!!

thanks for posting this idea...this is what this forum is all about----->DIY, i love this forum.

You could do what Douglas says, but start with some threaded aluminum round standoffs. Grainger stocks a bunch of different lenghts in 1/4-20 thread.

Anyone have two of the internal threaded "bolts" to attach the aircleaner to the (single) carb?

NLA from anywhere, but there have to be loads of them from folks that have gone to cone/sock filters, or Webers.

I need 2, and am located in Oregon at 97219.

Thanks!
