Iave a 2011 MINI Cooper S. It has the Harman/Kardon speakers that came with a package when I first got my MINI. The speakers started going out at first(both my satellite radio and my FM, AM stations were affected by this. My speakers would go out for two seconds then return to normal then after 6 seconds do all over again. Now when there is bass in a song, it sounds so terrible, it's got that scratchy sound to it. I think it may have something to do with the wiring. .. Any help would be great thanks.

Hi Geoff, I tend to agree with miniestate...
When you say 'speakers' going out - do they all cut out, or just the bass, or midrange, or tweeter?
If all of them cut out - then it has to be the amp. If only certain speaker (s) are cutting out - you might find some cheap $5 speakers, hook them up to the wiring, just to see if they still cut out.
I hope this helps.

Aloha Geoff,
Sounds like you're losing the amp for sure. Very common problem on the Gen One MINI's, (2002-2006). It wouldn't surprize me one bit if the later model MINI's have the same setup. The amp runs about $900-$1000. Most guys purchase a used one for $300-$400 and take their chances from there. Hope this helps. Mini Estate
