The side view shows surface rust around the base of the chrom ring.  Looks like the PO has a leaky windshield gasket and wet soundproofing behind the dash cards.

Pics of front.  As you can see the glass and front of chrome ring look great, as does the face of the gauge.

I'm going to have a few items left over from my mini that is being totaled out...nothing super rare, but might suit someone's needs.  If you want any of these items then please let me know ASAP, and pls make sure you include your email address if not in your profile info.  Since these are low budget items I'm not really looking to ship (except for the speedometer).

I'm in Long Beach, Ca.

$150 "Refurbished" speedometer 89,335.4km  - I bought this from heritage garage, it was sold to me as refurbished and worked great for t he short time it was on my car (I fixed mine).  It is more accurate in speed compared to my stock speedo, despite also being an 800 (the number in the corner of the odo...needs to be the same as last odo to be accurate), so I think it must have been gone over by a professional.

$20 4 Falken tires on factory steel wheels (non-riveted) - The rims are painted and aren't pristine, and the tires are almost to their tread wear indicators ...but might be fun to use while auto crossing or something for only $20.

$50. Stock non-reclining low back seats in vinyl...looks like mid 70's clubman seats.  Dyed black from brown.  These will need reupholstering.

$25 set of handles, 2 side 1 rear.  Showing wear with pitting and fine scratches in chrome.  Comes with 2 keys but one is so worn it only works in the right hand door (driver side in my car so it's the "valet" key so I have a secure trunk...yeah...that's it...

$25 Center console including 3.5" tachometer and pioneer stereo (incl remote) - the console itself was a prototype I made from foamcore, then wrapped in black leatherette vinyl not bad looking overall.  Tachometer works great, and is a great size to mount in a variety of locations.  Stereo works but is meh quality.

$5 two front turn signal rubber boots, brand new, never installed.

$10 modified steel non-vented gas cap - This item polishes up very pretty as you can see. This has been modified to have several gaskets that slide down into the filler neck to seal tanks prone to leaking through the cap.  The gaskets will need replacement but I can toss in a sheet of gasket material.  When the gaskets are new this thing WILL NOT LEAK...PERIOD.  Any gas smell will be coming from your overflow line

$10 stainless steel locking gas cap

free scissor jack, no winding handle

Free snorkel thingie from the end of stock airbox.  Great if you want an authentic obnoxious metallic engine vibration sound.

free rear view mirror - meh condition, some issues along outside edges of mirror

free brake/clutch pedal pad (?)

Free window winder handle

free stock black shift knob - rubber insides rotted, could carve out and use epoxy or something instead.
