I'd like to see. Is it somewhat like this acropolis backseat rally car? But it was mounted in the boot?
No they used a regualr Mini boot cover found on deluxe and Coopers i think (1/4" ply covered with vinyl would work) or just regular hardboard screwed to the outer edges of the boot lid (reinforcing bars) with about a dozen or more chrome or stainless self tappers. The tools where then placed where they wanted them and held in place with spring clips. Sorry no pics.
If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

Some of the rally Mini's had their tools mounted on the back shelf. Big Al had a Britax replica with tools mounted to the inside of the boot lid on a flexible boot lid board with spring clips, it looked neat and tidy.

This is from mini world magazine from the Acropolis 67 Works mini replica. //www.acropolisworksminis.com/#!mini-world-mag-feature/c11ci
Oh I dunno.... I like to keep tools in the boot so they don't end up in the back of my head.

i found one at a garage sale..... looks like one the doc used back in the horse days...it's like 10' w x 18' l x 14' h black....in good shape...looks bad as hell....
Willie must have some big tools: 10 feet wide x 18 feet long x 14 feet high?. Not gonna fit in a Mini.
