His mention of access points is true. I personally would have removed the grille the same time as the bonnet.

Another trick i use is flexible cutting boards to drain the radiator. I curved them around the lower hose and past the subframe to my drain tray. Saves a lot of clean up.

I made a couple of blood sacrifices to the A-Series the last few days as well.

...They were not too far off the mark saying that putting your arms into a mini engine bay was similar to plunging them into a bucket of razor blades. Will be interesting to see how many sticking plasters are being worn at the end of the install.

The only project I ever made money on, was when I sold my vintage "brass tag" 2ltr Trans Am race car. I sold it back to Galpin Ford who sponsored it in the SCCA Trans Am series in the 70's. It now resides in there collection at Galpin Motorsports.

Hopes of awesome things with no realistic expectation of ever breaking even? Sound like every build I've ever done. haha

Really!!! I had to chuckle as they explained how by carefully positioning a ratchet spanner it was possible to go from two clicks a time to four trying to undo the rear rad cowling bolts. All the time knowing that by simply undoing one bolt at the bottom the whole rad & cowl can be pulled out as an assembly in no time.

Still, very amusing. They were not too far off the mark saying that putting your arms into a mini engine bay was similar to plunging them into a bucket of razor blades. Will be interesting to see how many sticking plasters are being worn at the end of the install.

The only thing wrong with programs like this is, I get ideas that I can do projects like this too. Then I start a project like this, then I must convince wife that modifying a perfectly good running mini is a great idea. Then I spend large amounts of money with no possibility of breaking even when it is sold. Such a good series , they make it look sooo easy.Smile

If you don't follow MCM, they are actually pretty funny. Some great mods, some hilariously bad ones, and everything in between. One of the hosts just bought a classic mini and has started modifying it. This one aught to be a good series.
