have u got access to OBD equipment? see for any fault codes. Would help u trace the problem.

Really need help. I'm completely stumped. I have a 2006 Cooper S Convertible with a standard trans. My car started fine for as long as I have owned it. Then I went to start it one morning and nothing. I get power to everything but the starter doesn't turn over. I had the alternator checked and found it wasn't charging correctly so I replaced it. Let it run for 30 minutes to chrge and tried again. Same problem. I just replaced the starter and the battery. The original was battery was old and due for a change even though it had never failed me. I bench tested the old starter and it works perfect. So now with a new battery, alternator, and starter I still have the same issue. I checked the clutch safety switch. When I press the clutch all the way I can hear the relay click when the magnets line up. I even went as far as to put a magnet on the switch to sort of bypass it. My next thought was maybe the immobilizer? I tried to bypass that by jumping the black/blue wire to the black/yellow. Still no luck. I tried using the spare key and still nothing. I tested for power at the starter and I get a light. The starter is getting something. Maybe not enough power? Is there something in the circuit that regulates that? I'm tired of spending time on this. It shouldn't be this difficult. The car can be started with a push. It works fine in Run. It's just the start.  lease help.
