Thanks again fellas! She's running perfect now. Just babying her and monitoring for anything. Anything I should look out for after replacing the serpentine belt?

Roger that! I got the belt on almost all the pulleys except the tensioner and the supercharger. Noted on the jaws of steel. Thank you fellas.

If you don't have the tool it's a real pain to thread the belt in that small gap and keep your fingers OUT ...........took mine weeks to stop hurting......

Mini's are like buses they come along in a bunch

+1 - it would make it much easier if you have the tensioner tool.

I have never used the pin anyway just hold it with the tool you use to move it with one hand or a helper while installing the belt. you can get the belt around all but one pulley first and then pull it back and get the last one.

Hello there everyone! New guy here (new owner of a 04' S). I'm trying to replace my serpentine belt and idler pulley, yet the little pin on the tensioner unit which you plug with something to hold tension on the spring has broken off. I'm trying to find an improvised way to keep the tension on the spring allowing me to slip in the belt through the pulleys. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.
