With the Wolseley "Race car" we use a GMC227 dual master cylinder, and we have the front and rear circuits isolated, ie we have a tee fitting that feeds the front brakes and a straight through connector that runs out to the back brakes (5/8" cylinders). Brakes work well and drag the car down from 100mph with no drama.

You will need to make (or have made) a set of brake lines with metric fittings that fit the tandem master on one end and imperial fittings on the other

The diagram is fine, but shows an image of the Mk IV master cylinder, or what was intended for MK IV.

If the car was converted to a single MC, why return to a tandem?

minimans, that's the one that appears correct, but the way his (probably original) pipes are set up, they won't fit directly into the failure switch or PDWA. Yes, changing the pipe or pipes could be done, but curiosity has me wondering what was used on the Canadian cars. I've worked on enough of them, but don't remember.

Spitz, hopefully a photo will solve the mystery. Check to see if the pressure regulator is on the right side of the rear subframe, too.

That's one of the cross brake systems, not front to rear split and I believe SMR has front to rear. Need a photo or two from one of the many Canadian car owners on this forum.

From the photo I saw, you have (or will have) two pipes from the master. Both will need to go to some type of connection, which you are missing. You have two more brake pipes that should connect to the same missing connection piece. One goes to the front brakes and one to the back. The odd (third) pipe that heads back is not a brake pipe.

What would help would be a photo from someone having the same vintage Canadian car. What is used as the connection piece that joins the pipes from the master to the pipes to the brakes?

The car is a Canadian mini. The only thing that I am having difficulty with right now is getting the lines connected properly because there is three lines in the engine bay. One looks to be for the two fronts but then there is two from the back I would think. If this is the case do I need a T connection to join the rear lines to the master?

A 76 should have a dual system I think.  What market is the car from?  If it's from CA, it would have dual system.

You wouldn't need to touch the proportioning valve, but you may need to change the rear wheel cylinders to 5/8" I believe it is.....someone will correct if wrong

I have a 76 mini LHD. I have converted the front brakes to disc and am attempting to install a tandem master cylinder on a system that looks to at one time have been a single line system. The proportioning valve is on the rear sub-frame, does that need to be removed? Could someone provide information on what is involved in converting the system and how to properly install the master? Thanks
