I'm running Aldon ignition on several cars (it's the British version of Pertronix) including Gertie, who certainly puts the ignition under some strain, and never had a problem.  To burn out two sets in quick succession would suggest to me that there is something else amiss other than "the cheap wire"...

Which sort of dizzy are you using ?

EDIT: It was a bad Pertronix Ignitor 2.  However Juan at Pertronix was very helpful and is sending me a replacement.

Hi guys, been awhile, hope you and yours are good.

I just did the diff covers and bushings, upper arms, steering rack, hubs and all that garbage.  Then tonight I couldn't get a spark - well that's easy to fix.  An idiot can deal with that right?

I'm switching between the installed Pertronix Flamethrower (60kv) and a spare Gold coil with the same results:

- Test lamp lights up on the coil positive and negative, with the ignition on.  Test light is off with the coil negative lead off.

- No spark either through the Pertronix dizzy or positioning the coil lead next to a ground.

I've gone through two Pertronix dizzy sensors before because of the cheap wire they use.  I'm too tired to go thru the dizzy wiring now but is that where you guys would look first?
