It's an unmetered air leak into the inlet. Check all the Vac. Lines and turbo hoses. You have a leak somewhere
Mini's are like buses they come along in a bunch

I'm, new to the Mini world got a 2005 Mini Cooper Convertible. Things have been going pretty well till now. Last week my little Mini went into limp mode. Service engine light on and EML light also. Hocked up my engine code reader and I get P1498 code when I look at the freeze frame it says ABSLT TPS 11.8%, Eng Speed 1245 RPM, Calc Load 36.9%, Map 12.1 "HG, Coolant 97 DEGF, IAT 73 DEGF, IGN ADV 1.0 DEG, ST FTRM1 0.0%, LT FTRM1 4.7%,FUEL SYS 1 open, I have removed Map sensor and cleaned it put it back in erase code started engine one mim later lights back on. My question is what is a P1498 code.
