Well I got the heater fan out and back in, runs good now, HEAT, yes. Looks like it will be dry the next couple days so one last drive.
Also got the new SU float needle valves installed, nice to fire up this little rascal again so after the streets dry up it'll be a heater test drive.
Both the Mini and the 911 have been waiting for a test drive. The 911 got new plugs (12), a new MSD and Coil , I have two and some fine tuning of the webers. She runs sweet now.

If you had the key on, which I believe you did, sounds like the electric fuel pump, which should have had a ticking sound, flooded your carbs. You can disconnect the wire from the fuel pump if you're trying to troubleshoot your heater fan motor, or other gremlins. Look for a bad ground on the heater motor.
check that you have juice, 12v to the motor from the wire, and that you have a ground.
you can use a meter or test light for this. A meter will tell you if you have a full 12 v to the fan or if there is resistance in the wiring.

The last project on my 93 Mini was the heater fan wouldn't turn. So I got out there and started playing with it. It would turn by hand but just barely with power. Hooked up my charger to make sure I had plenty of current, still no luck. Then for some reason the left SU Carb float bowl flooded and pumped fuel all over the floor. Time to quit and come back after the fuel vapors diminish.
After it was safe to go back into the garage I took the heater apart and found one side of the fan was rubbing. Previous owner must have put it together incorrectly.
Opened up the carbs and they have the old float needle valves so I'm replacing them with the newer needle with the Viton tip. UPS today.
