Great place. Dean Wilhite and I stopped there on our way from Portland to San Diego for MMW. Nice to know the road is repaved. Used to spend a lot of time in Santa Barbara, and Cold Springs Tavern was a great getaway.

Old San Marcos Pass Road is a Mini driver's dream. A two lane freshly paved ridgetop road with 15° banked switchbacks. Good visibility around the turns and no traffic—all at or below the posted speed limit. It's hard to imagine anything better. The hot chocolate was good too.
Cold Spings Tavern? Stopping there on Tuesday for a Buffalo Burger and a cold one! ??
Correct. Cold Springs Tavern.  Are you local or just passing through? Will you be driving your Mini? CST is 20 mins. from my front door. Want some company, or is this a family outing?
Just passing through on the way to Nor Cal with the family. You're a lucky guy to live in one of our favorite towns! And to be able to share rides with your grandson to CST in your mini is icing on the cake! Enjoy
