BUSH REAR SUBFRAME TRUNION >76 MINI & MINI COOPER

The Mini's rear subframe is rubber mounted. These standard rubber bushes fit the front of the rear subframe on MKIV (1976) and later Minis. These models also use 4 of the 2A5818 for the rear trunion of the rear subframe. Polyurethane (stiffer, much longer lasting) bushes are now available for the rear subframe trunions- see 21A2560/poly. Cars manufactured before 1976 used the same bush (2A5818) at the front and rear of the rear subframe, 8 per car.

Minis Pre 1976 used 8 of these bushes for the trunnions on the rear subframe but on (MK4)1976 on they reduced the quantity to 4 and used 2 larger bushes 21A2560 on the front trunnions. Fits 2A5819 rear subframe trunion. A much longer lasting version is also available in poly as 2A5818/Poly.

BUSH POLY FRONT TOP TRUNION SPRIGET

The standard bushing in the suspension of all Midgets and Sprites is made of rubber. When the factory decided they needed a little firmer feel they use a "metalastic" bush that is a rubber bush vulcanized to a metal bush. Modern engineered materials has now allowed a cost effective alternative. The use of "polyurethane" in a suspension bush provides a tremendous improvement in precision and control.
