surgery or abortion? my guess is even he cant get it backwards on a honda abortion. the reason mini owners started putting the fan on backwards is the parts books all show it backwards.

Pete/elpez, FWIW on some of the aftermarket blades they are not stamped engine side.

Not disagreeing, but an old saying is that you can fly a brick with enough power. Even straight up. Of course, then it is really not flying per se.
The point is, with a given finite amount of power or rpm, there is X amount of lift on an airfoil or X amount of airflow with a fan. Therefore with the correct installation the airplane wing or the mini fan will perform better with that given /fixed amount of power (or speed)

That is not his car CC, as stated above it belongs to Jackie.
Archie it is highly doubtful that the factory put the fan on the wrong way.

Lotsa things look not to be stock on your motor so it has been worked on and maybe removed at one time. When on properly the flat side of the blades (rather than the convex side) faces the rad and it is supposed to push 20% more air.

Ok, so my fan is also in the same direction as the picture above on jackies car.
So I assume mine is wrong also.
Question I have is why is it backwards? Looks like the fan has never been removed before. Was this done at the factory?

Mine is on backwards. Getting ready to pull the motor, so flipping the fan is no big deal. I was not planning on pulling the radiator off, but it is a lot easier on the bench than in the car.

So Steve, will it lighten the front of the car to have it installed the right way? Maybe having it flipped backwards pushes the front down and gives you better traction.

I almost always respond well to Good Orderly Direction, so when Sts. Austin and Morris printed "ENGINE SIDE" on my plastic fan I put it back on the Mini that way. It really does work better, that car ran noticibly cooler after that.
Interesting how some discussions keep coming back into the forum.
Take what you liked and leave the rest.
