Mike, would you like just a simple on-off switch or an on-off-on to operate one pair or two pairs at a time?  With or without a dashboard indicator lamp to tell you that they're turned on?

I can (easily) modify one of the drawings that I just did if you'd like -

Here is a thread with a good diagram and some neatly fitted relays

I will say that mur and jeg are incredibly knowledgeable and excessively patient. It's a very good offer.

mur, are you trying to recruit me???  I'm really glad to be able to help, I do try...

I agree, easy to read diagrams are really nice to have.  I installed my headlight and horn relays from dklawson's diagrams which are more schematic in nature.  I'll try to simplify them.

I'll see what I can do, but it won't be tonight - need to get some sleep, it's 0330 hrs.  Give me a poke in the eye with a sharp stick if I'm taking too long, m'kay?

Two meandering wiring threads have pretty much worked out for folks this last week, so I thought I would start another wiring thread that can be helpful to many.

Here is the plan:

Jeg draws pretty diagrams, folks without headlamp relays post that they don't have them yet, but they would like to fit them, any concerns specific to their particular cars can be presented and addressed.

Someone with a car handy who can take great pictures gets a shot of the wiring harness correctly tucked up under the slam panel, and the headlamps wiring extracted for access, etc.

Others can hit up their local auto parts stores for hardware: relays, wire, terminals, or buy what they need from our host or from other suppliers. There are differences, and if needed we can discuss the merits of  a twenty dollar Hella item, a used Bosch relay in a wrecked Saab, and the stuff on the shelf at Napa.

Everyone can plan to fit this to their cars next Saturday, and a few among us will volunteer to be available for immediate consultation.

The goal is to prevent any more melted headlamps switches or dimmer switches, along with brighter headlamps and an increased awareness of how cars work.
