Tony, before you start spouting off as if you know jack about minis, you really should do some reading.  Having seen the the things you've performed on your mini, you've likely hindered it some.  But, you won't listen to anyone, nor will you read the articles written by people who've invested fortunes and are willing to share their knowledge.  Nope, not you - a Fanta Orange bottle and bicycle handgrip will fix the rodchange mechanism just fine, forget about orienting the fan correctly and we'll cook the ignition coil while we're at it.  Throw on a bit of sewer pipe and cone-shaped filter, some random plug wires, give the clutch bearing a spray of WD40 and the slave a porch door spring and we're good to go.  I doubt that you read Vizards torque-tube tests before you went ahead, so it's not likely that you'll ever see any sort of sporty performance from yours.

You want an overdrive 5-speed?  Go for it - it only costs a couple of days pay...  But, you're going to need some torque to pull it along...

850's are about as bulletproof as it gets, and they'll happily cruise at 70mph all day long: highway speed limit over here is generally 110kph/68mph, some sections posted 130kph/80mph.  Top speed in my old 850 was close to 90, and it took a little while to get past 80, but it's all part of the fun.  Sitting on the ground, driving through the gears, downshifting for hills, racing at every traffic light.  To help things along, I installed twin HS2's, K&N's, a small-bore LCB, a lightweight flywheel, disk brakes and made sure the suspension was flawless.

i don't blame you jeg, because in the eyes of a Purist,850 is almighty powerful.

and yes 850 can do 90mph,but for how long? 5minutes? plus i wont dare do 90 on those little skiny tie rods and ball joints. a good size stone on the road can total your mini at 90 easily.(god forbid).  btw, a bigger bore carb jet is better than twin HS2.

10s for my car...5th gear seems pretty long and i can cruise comfortably at 75-80 no problem.Idk how fast the little tires will let me go

There is no reason for premium gas in a stock honda engine, theyre economy cars ? Why does it need higher octane lol when its turbod ill run a little better gas..until then no need..

clown has no clue about anything it seems. couldn't figure out how to latch the bonnet if it hit him in the head.

probably good his Mini is most likely fictitious. would be a waste with all the stupid sh!t he says he does to it.

Dude, 998 with long shaft is perfect for highways, however, you have to have a very good mixture of Oil that goes with it.

This is my Oil formulation:

4.0Qts- Amsoil 20w/50

0.75Qts-Lucas Oil stabilizer

1can-zinc

1 small bottle- rubber seal conditioner/AT-205 reseal

1small bottle-Marvel Mystery oil

Newbies, don't try this at home, this is only used by professionals.

try it at your own risk.

I would like you to send that concoction of snake "oil" to a test labotary and see what they think of it.

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

it's longevity issue Paul, if you want your little tiny 850 to last longer, quit WOTing!... plus we're not 16y anymore, it's hard to control a fast car.

WOT is a mortal sin to do in any vehicle.  gosh! am i the only one sober here? lol

You would really have to work at killing an 848. But, I'm sure you could manage. [rolleyes]

BTW, we haven't seen the Pink Pride in action lately.

zippy, my mini is now undergoing a reconstructive surgery, im doing something on my mini that no one else has ever done, the end product will be an envy of ALL, and i mean ALL mini owners, be it Purist,Racers,Wannabe's or Prove-ist(people who wants to prove something) etc!,  watch out for it! you're in for a big surprise!!
