Proof of life with today's newspaper? Jajajaja. This is not a kidnapping. Here is what you do. Call Shauna at Beehive Storage. I have given her permission to cut the lock on unit 329. She says she is not strong enough but will have it done on Saturday. Her number is 435-654-4433. She will allow inspection of the Mokes with my authorization.  She can snap some pics.

Nope. If you like go to Park City. Tom Gordon or Pam Carlquist (the head of the English Department at PCHS) will have the titles in hand. You pay them. They release the titles and the cars. Otherwise use an escrow service. .

Texas is real close to Utah. Should be easy for you. I rarely use the email I posted but I will check it daily for the next week. Here are some of my answers to other people:

I don't  know if I want my email listed.  I am in Ensenada, Mexico. I do not want to go back to Park City just to deal with these two cars. However every month when I get my storage bill - I promise myself that I will do something. There is a local car guy in Park City, Tom at Mercer Automotive. He can act as a middleman and arrange shipping etc. It usually starts snowing about Halloween.  Probably best to do this before the snow.  My original cost back in 03 was 15,000 for the two.  75 and 75. Then  6 years of storage at 1500 a year. Make me a reasonable offer.  It is time they found a new home.  Reasonable works. I refuse to acknowledge low ballers. Saludos, Anderson Tate

Utah is very dry. Very dry. They both ran when put into storage. The oil is Mobil 1. I do not think it will be any problem to put them back on the street. Mercer could probably do it in a day. The keys are in the ignition of both cars. Neither has ever been in an accident. The original BMC needs a new top. The seats are in excellent condition. The engine is strong (for 46 horsepower). I never had any problems with the car. It is probably the best unrestored 67 (49 years old) Moke on the planet. The Aussie has a good top. It only has two seats. I am attaching a picture. The paint is original. Engine is as I remember overbored I think to 1340. It ran hot at 8000 feet. At sea level it is probably fine. I rarely drove it. Maybe just once or twice over to Alta on a fireroad. Very cool.  The 67 has a 67 plate from Utah - matches the car Green and white. I think you restore the 67 - easy. You drive the 72. Then sell the 67 - unless you can live with 46 horsepower and 80mpg.  Shipping to FLA is not going to be expensive - it is done by weight.  I will get you a picture of the 67. I have some but I need to scan them. A day or two.

I was going to repaint the 67. I do not believe in changing colors - but I really like the original green Mokes and was lukewarm about the off-white. So I never got around to it. There is a tiny bit of cosmetic rust on the 67 around the gas cap and one or two of the rocker box covers - but nothing to speak of - no floorplan rust no body rust. Easy easy restore to a 30K+ Moke. Take out the seats, take out the engine. Sand and paint. A few days. Seats are original, metal with green leather. The top is excellent for the 72. It is folded in the galvanized storage box. It is basically brand new - never used it once. Cars were always garaged.  Drive the 72 -  paint and cosmetic restore the 67.  Saludos.

Doubting Thomas. 72 Vin 018F082M0919755. California plate 1QWk919.  67 Vin 67AAB1L889063 Utah plate 174393.  To the victor go the spoils. They are not ghosts. They deserve a new home. I am no longer interested. Ask anyone you know in Park City about the two Mokes in Park Meadows. Or ask Tom at Mercer Automotive in Park City 435.649.2886. He knows the cars. I have not spoken to him in years but he will be my point person on any sale. I will accept any reasonable offer. Otherwise they stay in storage.  You may contact me at [email protected]. Saludos.

The history of the white car (green seats and top) - the 67 - is that it was used exclusively at an automobile racetrack in Southern California to ferry the drivers and crew from point A to point B. I bought it from the original owner. I had it shipped to Park City Utah where it was used as a town car in the summertime. It has been in storage for the last 6 years. The blue car - my avatar - is a 72 Ausie - bigger wheels, roll bar. Instead of a rear seat there is a galvanized and lockable storage box. It has the 1275cc - and is quite fast. I have the disc brake kit in a box - never got around to installing it.

My 67 Project Moke just turned 50K miles..... hard to believe you have one 50 times newer!!   Get a hold of me, I'll write an article telling it's story.... Should help sell it!  I predict the "brokers" will be after you!  Even the ones that badmouth other 'brokers', but are brokers nevertheless!
