Cool

It's been fun, but this place is done. I have no hatred, and appreciate the good times. But this place now belongs to Tony and his pink mini.

big al, is that a copy of an add he has on ebay? that is kinda funny, i never meet eric that i know of but 10 years ago or so he was having a "going out of business" sale like this one and i was talking with him about a nissan he was selling. he offered it for sale to me and i agreed to the price as long as the car checked out with condition, paperwork etc. he called me back the next day to say he could not sell it as his "mother" had nixed the deal because the price was too low. so if eric has retired to FL how old would that make his mother?

What about getting your car titled as a kit car. I know that state laws differ, but with some paperwork that states you bought the "shell" and paperwork and serial numbers on the engine, I think that you could get enough paperwork gathered to fudge a kit car title. Probably not completly legal/moral, but there are a bunch of cars floating around that aren't

Nah, he sounds too intelligent. Hope he's got enough brains to keep his head down. Only one winner if he keeps pushing it, and it's NOT 95cooper.

Something isn't right about 95cooper. No pics of the mini or docs. Is this the same person as Boison.

S*** does happen... like worn out engines, unknown condition of trans bearings, hidden rust, seized bolts, worn out rubber components. But paperwork that cannot be validated by the DMV or anyone else shouldn't.

That said, Big Al was VERY helpful when I bought my car and went out of his way to help me. He is a respectable man. I'm not defending or condemning him. Just stating that he may be trying to resolve this off of the board or maybe he'll get on here and say his part. But we shouldn't assume it's his fault or he had knowledge of it. I have a friend that bought a trailer and everything was squared away until he went to get it titled and the DMV couldn't give him a title for a similar reason. It was a big screw up from the previous owner (2 owners before) and was only discovered when it went to get titled in a different state. Weird things happen. Sometimes you can resolve them, sometimes you can't. Maybe the guy in Missouri has the true vin. Maybe he doesn't.

I never saw where the OP posted pictures of his VIN or stamps in other locations that verify his VIN is real or not.

BOTTOM LINE: Lets get all the facts before we start gathering our pitchforks.

Doesn't look like you'll get a response. Here's a recent quote from Al, defending his salesman buddy Ron, from Maine, who pulled a similar VIN Trick. "You must remember when dealing in 30-40 year old cars, S*** happens."

You do realize you are defending a used car salesman, right?

95cooper. You have no email address listed.

Let us know what Big Al's response is. If there is any.

Was this a record/paperwork verification, or did they actually physicall confirm by looking for the hidden numbers in the body metal?

Best talk to Big Al then - if he has sold you a car with dodgy paperwork, the least he can do is give you your money back.
