Finally herd from Missouri dmv, both cars came out of Ontario, there's has Canadian import paperwork, mine that I bought from big al does not. Therefore my title is revoked. Anyone want to buy a mini

You could always find yourself a scrapped mini with vin and title to transfer over to your car.

Yes, dmv and highway patrol, mine was licensed, but dosent matter, I have been fighting with these people since Feb. I can't win this battle, the government seems to always win.

Both cars can't have the same VIN from the factory. Did you have yours verified for the 17 digit secondary numbers.

No worries, Bill. (SC and NC look the same from waaaaaaay up here!) I thought of you because you have a broad knowledge of state registry issues and import/epo issues.

I recently moved to South Carolina, had my 1988 Cooper licence, titled and insurered in Va. Turned title in at sc dmv, got plate appled for SC title. Someone in Missouri used my vin., got a title. Now I have a car with no title because Sc said they cant title a car in 2 states. Anyone else had this problem? Any ideas? Got to much in it to scrap it. Any help woud be appreciated. If you can help please email me
If the person in Missouri got their car titled after yours it would seem like the Missouri authorities should rescind his title and SC should issue you yours especially as yours was and has already first been registered in VA presumably again before his. I would get in touch with Missouri DMV and have them sort it out.

"thewerewolf" can advise you, and probably will once he sees this.
In the meantime, start by making sure the VIN you have is actually for the car you have. A 1988 Mini should have it stamped in the scuttle gutter right above the right-side bonnet hinge. YOu may ahve to remove the ruber seal and it might be obliterated by paint. If you don't find it at first, check the udnerside of the gutter for slght deformation from when it was stamped.
