We get nearly all our stock front sub frames from our customers and MT's customers, who are doing the Honda conversions.  they are pretty easy to find from that group.  A lot of folks that have done the conversion, still have their old stock stuff stashed in a corner....good place to start looking.

But you are right, to each his own, but don't you like a mini that has power to climb a hill? or at least accelerate faster when the traffic light turns green? or can atleast smoke a regular 4cylinder modern cars out there? and don't you like a mini that doesn't leak oil??? or a mini that is fuel injected and not deal with menopausal functioning SU carbs? sometimes it works fine sometimes it's crappy?,  

But one thing i like about original mini engine is that they are super quiet, Quiet not because it lacks self esteem, it's quiet because the cylinder bore size is comparable to that of a scooter.(very tiny),and the original exhaust pipe has same diameter (girth) as that of a regular asian d**k. or Maybe even bigger, lol...aaanyway!  But to be honest, the classic mini World is so shocked about your decision to switch back to original Lucas engine. This thread should  be called the "Thread of the Century"

Thanks for all the interesting feedback and input guys.  Seriously

I am hooking up with Steve this week to go over things.  Seems like a super super guy.  As I have found with my old BMWs, to each his own.  Everyone has a right to their opinions and what they want to do to their cars to make them work for them.   I just love my 93 Mini and want to keep this 95 very similar to that.   If I want to go fast I will drive my wifes 2013 Clubman     Or my old BMWs  

PS   I got to meet Don Racine at Indy and Mid Ohio last month   What a great guy and a cool little car!!!!!

everybody knows that the most fastest minis are the ones with the all original parts. Why do you think they are still racing them around like mr don and his family does? If you want the vetech then you are just asking to be slower but have a more comfortable cruiser. I think we all know that being comfortable is not part of what mini is about so stay away from vetech's because they arent as good.

These D honda motors all make the same power basically.Add a turbo and shoot for 200-220 whp on 10-12psi .Put a good rod and piston snd crank it up.

That kindve driving isnt what i do.I like making pulls with other cars beside me.To be honest the HP sheet means nothing to me,i want real world results lol the boost made it way better,and each time i play with the bost controller it feels better and better.I actually didnt even want to put it on a dyno to tune it because most of the time off the dyno the car isnt as good as it was on.The load on a dyno for tuning is diffrent then a street.Ive seen way too many cars come off a dyno and the owners arent happy with the tune or driveablity and have to get it cleaned up....

Atlesst they have a paper stating what it makes Hp wise :)

My cars making more power then a B series,and has longer gearing,more room,and cheaper to replace.I am making over 200hp and should honestly make 200 to the tires very easily if not more where. They make 160/180 to the crank.

There is no upgrade there for me.My motor is CHEAP to replce and trans are damn near free and soo perfct for a mini.If i wasnt turbo i would but with my car the way it is theres no way id go B.I had this planned out from day 1 lol i have some stuff to ensble to to mske 300whp i just slowl progresing and figuring out how to use the HP

REDRILEY i was speaking of a diffent troll actually thst you may not understand but he very much fits the description of a troll ad hes overlooked because hes in the circle lol

I dont have a problem,in fact i went to check in the garage to take a picture of my front stock subframe and was going to offer him that and any parts i had around BUT i forgot that someone had picked it up:(

I respect people and their cars and what they want,but i feel there are too many purists who scare people away and i built my own car and jave had the 998 ,1275,and the d16 and now turbo.In all honesty,you KNOW first hand how nice your car is for a cruiser.Your car is awesome and a perfect cruiser type car that i beleive all the people who talk bad about vtecs would drive and change their thoughts...

Mine is..built for me to race,some things overlooked but it serves the purpose i want lol

I TRULY appologize to the poster,i respect your idea to put it to stock.Its a lot of work to do a vtec but isnt too bad.Most get overwhelmed and give up or half ass it and arent happy.Its NOT cheap though...b it can be done fairly cheap if peiced togethet.I am a racer,i dragrace? Getting into a 34hp car or whatever a 1275cc car even was to me felt horrible.It felt dangerous. Lol

JerseyMini, who is your rant aimed at? I didn't see anyone calling you stupid. Or stupic, whatever. Mike was just looking for information to do what he wants to do with his car. Courses for horses, as one of our departed friends would have said. You built the car you wanted, in spite of people telling you not to, and you are happy with it. Great! I think your setup is awesome, but it's definitely not what everyone would want or need.  I've personally had my car both ways, and I enjoyed it with the original 998 setup as well as with the D16 VTEC. Were there tradeoffs both ways? Absolutely! Did it make it "better?" In some ways, yes. In some ways, no. The point is that it's all subjective, and if Mike wants to put his car back to stock, great! Let's do what we do best on this forum, and help him find the answers he's looking for.

Hopefully the parts go to good hans and make someone very happy like me :) i wouldve ditched the mini by now if i never went the route i did.The HP level was for a golf cart on a valley..oh wait..golf cart??

You will love it soo much better original ,just being able to say you have the oroginal parts and..uhm,its all original?? Is a great feeling?

Nobody wants a nice cruiser,with longer gears,less noise in car,a better clutch pedal feel,nicer shifting,more power,FUEL injection,being able to get parts you need anywhere for the motor,cooler engine temps at any speed or temp,being able to pass people,being able to merge onto a highway,having nice coilovers rather then some peice of rubber that looks like it belongs behind the tire of a big rig at a loading dock.Thats all stuff people on here dont want :)

30 HP in a veicle meant to be on a street is really "Stupic"

Hopefully you atleast go to a healthy 1275 ot larger with SOME powaaaa ,sorry...i have to stay ontop of things on this side of the field ,im outnumbered on here by old grumpy men who call me stupic for NO reason lol
