Been working on our kit for a little while. Hoping to release it for xmas, but still doing R&D right now. Focused solely on D15/16 Sohc conversions. Retains factory suspension, etc. In the pipe line are custom made header, pie-cut manifold, stand alone harness, 1 piece shafts, clutch standoff mount, and a few other accessories. Will update when we are at that point, but very excited to say the least. Yellow Mini is Civic Si bottom with ZC piston, ZC head, rocket 5 cam, M-factory LSD, 3.7 final drive, OBX ITB's with Hondata S300. Mine is the Estate in the background with 99 Civic d16y8 and Greddy Turbo Kit. 150-160hp for the ITB powered NA car, I'm shooting for around 215bhp or so.

Oh so you can retain all original suspension parts including the 10 inch wheel? BUT how about the drive shaft? The shaft from the vtec is much larger in diameter than the mini's.  Do i need to send both driveshaft to Driveshaft Shop.com and they will cut , weld and infuse the 2 different sized driveshaft?? Awsome!!

You know there have been a lot of cases of Carpal Tumnel syndrome  originated from stepping on the gas pedal for too long, it's like typing in the computer keyboard for longer period of time, the nerve   And muscle is not relaxed when stepping on the pedal you will eventually develop a pinch nerve in the foot.

The only thing questionable on what he said was that he drove the vtec mini to canada 3,000 miles EACH WAY, and considering the vtec mini he drove was a stick shift , that means he stepped on the gas for the entire 6000 miles? No cruise control?? That is painful in the legs and thigh. That's the reason why i wanted an automatic vtec mini. I dunno if he already did an automatic trans mini or can it be done at all?  Space is always the issue...lets hear it from steve.

he's vtec mini is very nice and clean,, looks very sharp

It always amazes me that you write posts out of your false assumptions. I have driven a 5 speed '94 civic hatchback from Southern California to Seattle Washington without cruise control. It can be done easily with good music and company. I only stopped for gas, food, and restroom. Stock naturally aspirated Honda engines are extremely reliable and the clutch is very soft, much easier than an A series Mini. There's no need to shift while cruising on the freeway, just rest your foot at a steady position, same as what you would do on an automatic transmission.

Minitec' mTB kit can also be installed in a stock nose mini without the extended front. But Steve's kit is awesome because they use part of the original Mini subframe. His kit keeps the engine straight and doesn't require cutting the intake manifold to fit. It also allow you to retain all original mini suspension parts, you can even keep rubber cones and 10" wheels.

I want automatic mini so my wife can drive it too. Plus it is very difficult to shift gears and step on the clutch pedal let alone the very tight space between clutch pedal, brakes and gas, few miles of driving is neglible but driving hundreds of miles with stick shift is just pretty punishing.

I'd probably go to vtec route, from a donor car.   I understand as well that you can actually use the old mini subframes, cut the sides and weld a 1 1/2 square pipe with 3/16 gauge onto the subframe tower .  To me its a pretty easy job, considering that i am a fabricator.  (But i dont fabricate stories)   As long as i have the tools it'll be pretty easy.

Honestly, the more i watch videos about vtec minis, the more i can say that it's too easy to do it..it won't even cost $12K... like what JM did, it only cost him $500, and in essence it cost him nothing because he was able to sell the other parts from his donor car.,what a wise guy, now i call you Y & W. if you actually have an electronic pipe bender,it's much easier to do the motor kit.

My 1990 mustang i had last year was a 5 speed and had cruise control.

But i hate cruise control. Its too lazy and almost unlike driving .If youre that lazy you dont need to be behind the wheel of a car .Id inagine cruise control is the culprit of quite a few accidents but i dont want to get into any if this.A quick google search of " vtec automatic site:16vminiclub.com" would probably, show you some.Gildred website even has one they did for someone.

I feel you ignore a lor of stuff and just play dumb for attention. Not really sure what your dreal is but i see everyones point before.Pretty sure all the stuff you say you copy and paste from elsewhere and try to tell people how,to,fix their cars when they dont want random google, search fixes...they want it from knowledge which tons of the members here have...genuine hands on knowledge NOT things they hear.

Yes jersey, but they are Lucas engine minis with automatic trans, i wish they can do long drives.. I am actually referring to vtec engine with autotrans power unit that can be thrown in front of the car, not in the back.

There have been quite a few automatic minis.

Look at the woody on gildred webside ..green and wood, look st the shifter on the floor.I dont care what what anyone calls me i just dont like people making false statements. The reason hondas sound the eay they do is because of the mufflers NOT the engine.

here's a Q for you JM, ,,, first i am in my 40's and i tend to slow down a bit, i do not intend to race, all i want is to travel long roads with my mini, my Q is, is it possible to put a vtec automatic transmission into a mini? i mean, if the donor honda car is automatic can it easily be squeezed in to the mini engine bay? ,nobody has done it, i guess not, but im just curious, i really wanted a automatic mini with A/C and cruise control, i dont care about the power windows etc. i dont care about power steering either.

if you answer my question, i won't call you Y & S ever again...

You can change the engine noise with a muffler and good Resonator .Stock hondas dont sound like that? Make it sound the way you want and stop saying every one has to sound like a fart pipe, its what the owner wanted to put on his car and the sound he wanted thats why it sounds that way.Mine sounds way different .When the wastegate of the turbo opens its loud but a diff loud.

And wrong AGAIN.They arent sportspack arches.Im no mini pro but they are group 2 wides or something i forget.

OMG, this video kinda like turns me on and off at the same time, i really like the power vtec engines are putting out but i just can't take the engine noise, too much of an attention seeker, it's like hey!! look at me!! i'm commin' !! , And also is it really normal on vtec engines to spit out unburnt gas? notice the exhaust on the video? the gas ignites inside the muffler NOT inside the combustion chamber, why is that??? But i must admit, the thick wheels and wide sports pack arches gives that mini a real nice stance.

To conclude: i don't like noisy minis period! Again, i will tell you my motto in life----> "i want to see the car accelerates, EVEN before i hear the engine rev"

here's the video btw---->  https://youtu.be/p9xFDvuRNQY

My car is loud full throttle because the turbo has an open wastegate..

New fresh motor is in the making now finally as well as LSD and more boost! Should be a lot faster.I used a donor honda civic to build mine.I got the car for 500 and sold off over 500 in parts and scrap and got the swap for free.
