Thanks, but not what I wanted to hear. (don't have any use for Sprite stuff)  For the record, it has a 19-20 degree carb mounting angle, 6" port centers, ring type locaters;  no spacers though.

Steve-that could be a sprite/midget item considering the full complement of emission system ports, spacers on the carb side of the manifold and length of manifold between the carb and the head.  However, I had not noticed the firing order cast in there before.

fonnd this one in a box of stuff that came with my pickup.  casting number 12G 1451 on one runner and CFL or CPL on the other runner.  only other markings are the firing order on the back of the balance tube.

I was thinking about this thread as asilverstein's 997 is trying to come together and the correct manifold wasn't around.  I looked at 2 manifolds I could find.  One is a 1275 s manifold, 12A661 P cast in and AEG 347 stamped into the balance tube.  Both bosses are drilled-crankcase vent and power brake.

I also have a BA62357AEG490 manifold.  I imagine the 6 is supposed to be an 8.  It is a twin 1.5" or 1.75" manifold.

I have a manifold here marked AEA577, I suspect it is a Spridget, can anyone confirm?

Chuck,

Yes, I saw the new listings this morning on Mark's site.  There's some good pictures there, some more recent manifolds.  (More recent meaning only 30 years old instead of 40!)

I got sidetracked developing a chart of A-type gears, but will try to get back to the manifold chart.  It's a case of Mini-ADD; Oooh, look, an old gearbox over there.

Randy, There are some new intake photos on Mark Forster's site about intake manifolds.

How's the list coming?

Hello Randy,

Any chance the Sprinzel manifolds will be up for sale? I have a Sprite that is looking for just that.

Regards,

Ralph

<<<ORIGINAL MESSAGE>>>

Finally are a pair of Sprinzell stub manifolds for H4 carbs.  The balance tube is a rubber hose.  Sprinzell Sprites were very fast numbers in their day and I'm assuming the S1000 number means they are for a Sprite 948.  They won't fit on a Mini.  I got these off the "Flounder", a Mini-based rear engined car, in a swap for a standard Sprite setup.

Hey All,

Something has happened and I haven't received notices that there have been new posts on this thread for about a year.  And due to work, racing, getting old, etc. I don't surf through very often.  So I'll try to go back through al the new posts over the past year or so and blend the new stuff in with what we already had.  I wasn't ignoring this good stuff, I just didn't know.

Thanks,

Randy McC - S&M Minis

Going through my stuff last night, and I ran across my manifold. It is marked

1008 (next line) 12A661 (next line) P

I looked through this tread quickly, and saw the 12A661 P2, but this is cast on the same line where as my "P" is below the 12A661, and 1008 is stamped in above the 12A661..

Eduardo, can you tell what the ground off number might have been?  I'm guessing AEG573.

MacDhaibhidh, 12G 586 is a new number in the mix.  Can you provide any details per the columns on the chart and possibly a photo?

here is one
