I may or may not have an immense amount of parts coming down. Will now of course at the very last minute. Will keep an update as things progress. Between getting my car done, which I will hopefully start the new engine this weekend... and getting all the products and left over parts from the last 3 mini projects together. Could have 3 new fiberglass hoods (1 peice and 2 piece), bulge hood, autoplas dash, fiberglass console, cup holders, speaker pods, fiberglass bootlids, custom drop brackets, custom seat extensions.... but again, it will all be very last minute! Can't wait to go, this will be my first big Mini show. Attached is a picture of where my mini was a week ago....

Oh Mac I was planning on driving down noon on Thursday potentially towing the Mini with the van.

Al,

Just think, there will be a few people drooling and longing for your Mini parts prior to the SWAP. That can lead to bidding wars and ultimately a better price for your items. That in turn will buy you more food  . I think it's a good idea to wait.

The idea of having the swap meet only on Friday night has been thought out and discused between some members. Reasons being: Everybody will be there Friday night (not Thursday night) and if somebody wants something on Thursday, they can wait until Friday. It makes it fare for everybody and also makes the swap meet, a swap meet, not the left overs that have been picked through (Like at Erwin). I obviously can't police people selling sooner, I just hope in the spirit of the club that everybody will follow along. You'll sell you stuff either way and you'll have a good sized crowd on Friday night.

BJ and others - I will be at Mini 53 and looking for a good condition 3 gauge binnacle with chrome ring (attached) and with the 4 platic tabs intact and not cracked.  No need for gauges.  Like this, but without gauges:

Does anyone have one they can bring and shoot me your asking price?

Many thanks.

MIKE-

As a rule l would say you are a pretty clear thinker

But. this goofy edict," not to sell any parts until Friday night" is a no-brainer

Case in point, l have several good quality mini parts at below average prices sitting in tote boxes in the back of my Dodge Ram and people try to buy them and l have to say "Wait till Friday Night",

I can see it now, fist fights, biting, scratching, people trying to shove money into my hand etc-

Please re-consider this ill conceived idea and report back-

BTW, Thank you for all of the work that you and Rhonnie have put into the event as well as the rallye masters whom l understand have been out in the mountains for days now , laying out the routes-

I will be bringing as many parts as I can fit in the truck. Please shoot me an email if there is anything specifically that you will be needing.

Thanks,
BJ

I've received a few phone calls about the swap meet. It sounds like it will be a good one. If most everybody brings something they want to sell/trade, it will be awesome. Please note, the swap meet will be Friday night only. Don't pull your stuff out before, we'll do it all at once and allow everybody a chance to see everthing at the same time. Tell everybody what you have leading up til Friday night, but please don't bring it out until then, thanks!

If anyone wants my dressed-out rear subframe, I'll throw it in the Subie and tow to NC.

Likewise for the MTB VTEC front frame.

I am going tomorrow to try to finalize the Saturday drive. It will cover the "Rattler" which is advertized at 590 turns in 24 miles. That will take us to lunch after which those wanting to raft will break off. The weather has been very warm with a lot of rain. The water is high so rafting should be great. And I was worried that we were too early for the trees and folliage. But everything is in bloom so it should make for great drives.

So, Who's going? What's everyone bringing? Parts etc. I think, if I have time I might bring some stuff to sell. No parts this time, cause I'm driving the mini down from the " 302 " . I did hear from some Dood, that a guy will be there selling some great looking Mini T-Shirts, for a great blowout deal. Anyway, Got a Kabin reserved, and Can't wait to see all the mini nuts!
