It's been fun, but this place is done. I have no hatred, and appreciate the good times. But this place now belongs to Tony and his pink mini.

Bought it. $100, A friend of mine is hauling it to his wrecking yard so I can strip what I need. I'll do pics and inventory and if you need anything I'll try to help out. Even if I can't save the car, I can save some parts of it.

It's in Nanaimo actually.. I haven't seen the fellow for a few days, I'm waiting for him top approach me. Even as a parts car I'd love to get it, but I don't want to seem eager.

That car sounds familiar to one I know of close to me. I'm in the Okanagan Valley. Are you talking the same area?

Give me his name, number & address, I'll smile & low ball him at $250...then you go in not sure but prepared to offer $500.

I get $10 and the right to sell the bumpers to Alex.

Would a mid-70's Canadian Min have a remote shifter? Or was rod-change the order of the day?

(Thinking back, I considerd buying a new Mini in 1975... I still have the brochure.)

Sounds like you're buying major work...personally....I'd run.  Jap Minis spoil you for messing around with UK, or Canadian Rustbuckets.

Pretty sure the current owner doesn't know either. By telling you, he is prabably thinking it should "go to a good home".

That would be you....

Go ahead... you KNOW you WANT to.

At the rate things are going with import restrictions and limiation on right-hand vehicles, the "japospec cars" market may tighten up.

If you could do a deal for $500 or so, then decide on restoration or cannibalization, I think you'd het your moeney back. (The VIN should be worth about that much alone... not suggesting - just saying).

Go on, you KNOW you WANT it.

tell you what, if the guy wants $500 for it, then heck grab it,  a project is a project, however long it takes, the best thing is people sees you in your garage everyday as they drive by, they see you fixing, painting and tinkering with it,,,, it's the JOY of building  that's what matters, and as soon as it's all done and all painted, BOREDOM comes into play because you have nothing else to do with it but to stare at it and drive it.

if i happen to get another beat up mini, i would probably convert it to a mini pick up., i love mini pick up truck., it's unique looking and can be used to haul anything.

And heck you deserve to have that canadian mini because you've been begging to sell it to you for 20 long years...

post pics if you can, we love pictures!! good luck!

If the bumpers have survived, I'd put in a bid for them !
