The Mini's in next weeks episode are members of MOALA escorting Wayne as he leaves the Newport Beach area on his way to Monterey.  The bus is larger in person than you would think.

BMC Bus "update" or "backdate".  The Bus that Wayne owns (owned?)

On a primer for next Tuesday night's episode, Wayne, in this bus, is seen cruising around in CAL with a bunch of Minis ( Probably during the time of the Montery Historics ) on a program called "Chasing Classic Cars" on H.D. Theatre. They show him need to get a jump, and maybe even using spray ether to get it started?, when he exclaims that he needs a support vehicle for his support vehicle. ( Channel 663 on Comcast in the Greater Seattle Area )

On the last episode, Wayne, the main character of CCC is seen buying the bus for 50K at an auction.  He is also shown discussing the bus and it's attributes with the man offering it for sale at the auction.  During that discussion, he and the "previous" owner discuss the later version of the Perkins diesel engine installed, and also the way the bus could be Re-modified to allow it to carry cars in the back once again.

Other than this BMC bus, and the minis in next tuesdays episode, there are other cool LBC, many high dollar classics, and classic U.S. Iron on other episodes.  Check it out.

Best regards,

MSH

I saw the show last week where Wayne bought the bus at the auction for $45,000. More power to him if he thinks he can get $98k large for it!

He's going to scrap it - Look at all the crappy rebar & at least 2 forlifts showing there - We just scrapped out an English Double Decker - @$2k if picked thru pretty good of the aluminum - not really worth the time - it's got a broken windshield too. Is it still sitting there? I'm qualified now to make it into a motorhome. Are these 24volt?

"AL, should be a snap to ship and import. I'll find a cheap Caterham and we can hide it inside covering it with a really mouldy old tarp emblazoned with a BMC logo that no one would want to touch, ship to Baltimore, drive home dropping the car off at my house on your way to Wainfleet, ee-zee-pee-zee. Bob"

Drive home ???? Bob, did you see the pic of it ????

Cooler heads have now prevailed, it will obviously remain in the U K-

Great find Brimmen-

Hard to believe another one popped up 47 years later-

Although they show it as a "1969" model, l believe it to really be a "1963" model-

It appears fully original from the exterior, with the exception of the rear tail lights (for Spitz), which have had the red lens replaced with 3 bulbs-

The original tail lights were the same as the Morris Oxford -

If it were in N/A, l would be all over this one-

Thanks for the info, "Cosmowog" !!!

Appreciate that.

Seems like a very high price, but you never know...

The blue "Hayward" bus were stored for years in the backyard at:

21965 Meekland Ave.

Many thanks,

BRIMEN.

Yes Terry, that is Mike in the backround of the Choke photo. He turned up in a lot of my paddock  pictures that day. We were trying to picture the 10" wheels, tires and brakes off of the P34 on a Mini. I'll have to post a few more photos on Don's  Historics post.

Not the former BigAl bus, but the blue on the photo, discovered in Hayward sep. 2009.

It's one of the four US Units.

Todays owner is Mark Mitchell, the one who sold BigAls bus on RM auction, January 2010.

Wonder if "anyone" know "anything" !!!
