If you're scared at 70, did you poop a little at 90 ?

Speaking of which, how are the teeths doing these days.

I know you're not supposed to laugh at someone else's misery but, the night you described your steering wheel adventure I just about pissed myself.

No, no sticking. I'm sure that my right foot is sensitive enough to know if it's sticking.Be careful when you say "should". I just attached it like it is suppose to be and haven't thought about it since. in 2013, I pulled the engine and did a spray can rebuild, hooked everything back up and drove 600 miles to Mini 54 without a problem. I haven't done anything to it and I'll do it again this year. Over 500 miles, most of which will be at 70MPH on I81. I will let you know if there is any problems.

hi doss, thank you..

making things work is easy but making things work properly is a different story, cables tend to stick especially if used under tension and if it creates friction, yours should be sticking long time ago but you just don't notice it or not particular about it, i for one is very sensitive and meticuluous when it comes to my machines, if i feel that the handling and performance is different,i'll find out whats causing it and do something about it., a sticking cable sure work yes but it just sucks whenever you step on the throttle pedal ,the car jerks.

but thanks for sharing your success story...

After 2 engines, 16 years, 2 countries, 4 states, and 20,000 miles, my 12DM ($6) throttle cable is still working as supposed to. Just thought I'd let everybody know.

ok, this is just a follow up report, so after 6 days of riding the mini, the throttle is still very smooth to depress. no sign of sticking and resistance.

I'm just gonna sit back and wait for the day you get on here and post about how your throttle got stuck open because that stupid loop of cable (which you've left on the end for absolutely no reason) got caught on something and left your throttle stuck wide open... The only reason I post on your threads is in the faint hope that some new or less experienced person will realize that nearly everything you've ever posted has been discredited.

The spi cable is made like that with an adjuster near the carb/throttle body end but he amount of cable from the adjuster to the barrel end is too long

mal, with your indulgence, the adjuster is not in question, it cannot be a reason for a sticking cable. it all boils down to the quality of the cable being used...

It is not for a sticking cable never said it was. When using a cable with two fixed ends you need an adjuster to keep the pedal height correct and to keep it adjusted amongst other things.
