Are you looking for a driver ready Mini that looks as good as it runs? This is the car for you. This 1993 Cooper has all the go-to goodies already fitted and is ready to put a smile on your face. It is in excellent condition and ready to rock! It is a Japanese import with low miles, located right here in Tempe.
The exterior of this Mini is in great shape. It is finished in bright red paint, and white top. White bonnet stripes have been added, along with aftermarket flares. The bonnet and front grille have been swapped for a Mk I look, along with Morris Cooper badging. There is some minor scuffs on the paint and small rockchips to the flares, but no fading or dents are present. Wing mirrors were installed, and the wheels were swapped with some nice 10" Ultralite wheels. The tires are old, but still in good shape tread-wise. All the rubber and seals are in very good shape, it appears the window seals have just been replaced, along with the filler trim.
Inside this Cooper resides factory seats without any wear and matching door cards and trim. The carpet is original and in excellent condition as well. The rear parcel shelf has been covered with some faux wood paneling, which is actually super nice in person. Up front the instruments have been swapped for some early Mk I style gauges and a dash overlay. The laminate is starting to bubble up in some areas from the heat, but is not cracked. The factory steering wheel has been removed and replaced with a Mota-Lita wheel instead. A tachometer has been added in the drivers glovebox door, along with some other miscellaneous trim.
Under bonnet is a very healthy 1275 single point fuel injected engine. It appears that someone attempted to make this look like a Cooper works conversion kit, as they painted the head blue and installed the Minifin style rocker cover. The airbox has been swapped for a pipercross filter, and a non standard centre exit exhaust rear pipe has been fitted. The engine sounds very healthy with no smoke at all, and the gearbox is super smooth and shifts great. We did notice that the fan is flip flopped, but that is a very simple fix and it cools very well. The clutch feels nice and fresh, along with hard stopping brakes.
You won't find a nicer Mini without spending a fortune. This is an extremely rust free Mini, and is ready to drive. Don't let it slip away!
