Pictures Don'rtcome up because Photobucket has become tight wads and do not let you link to pictures on there unless you pay what seems a lot.

Hello. saw your old post on Catalina Island Mini Moke where you took pictures of them. I have a picture of a moke My Family rented back in the 60's.
Your pictures wouldn't come up, maybe because post is so old. Anyway you could repost them or email some pictures?
Those mokes are a big part of my childhood.
Thanks, Scott

This one was an Ex-Catalina Moke - brought from Tom back in 1995.

That's a fairly diverse range of ages and models. Are 90's imports allowed on the Island as the bulk seem to be SPI models?

Thats cool. Way back in 1971 is when I got married. My wife and I went to Catalina for our honeymoon. While we were there, we rented a Moke to cruise the island. Back then; I had no idea that a Moke was in fact a Mini. And I didn't know at that time that I would be getting a Mini 30 years later. Kinda strange....maybe thats where I caught the fever that showed up decades later.

It was maybe the one Quicksilver bought and put together.

Mr. Racine,

The question still stands. Whatever happened to the 1966 850 Austin Moke from Catalina Island that you purchased from me many moons ago??? Thanks.                                   Mini Estate

There is a limit to the number of automobiles on the island, and it even includes official ones, like fire engines. So the waiting list to bring one in is long. But for some reason, Minis are classified the same as the ubiquitous golf carts and are not limited. On the one hand, it's cool to see so many in one place; on the other, they obviously never get driven spiritedly. Not quite like a race horse pulling a plow, but......

Yeah, where's all the Mokes??? The Island used to be crawling with them back in the day. I owned one of them once. I bought it from a guy in Los Angeles. It was supposedly the nicest Moke left out of an entire fleet of Mokes that were used by a particular Resort. It was a '66 with an 850 all original. I had it shipped to Portland, Oregon. Small world, it ends up when I went decided to sell it, I called Don Racine to have him list it in one of the early Mini Mania Sale Flyers, (before websites and such). He bought it from me sight unseen! And so Don, whatever did you do with that lil' beast???

Just got back from a few days on Catalina Island. Was amazed with the all the mini's they had there. Took as many pictures of the ones I found that I could. Few got away from me, couldnt get the camera out fast enough. Here's what I saw there.
