How much is a donor engine worth?  Certainly not $2500 for a 1275 AA engine that you really don't know anything about.  The body shell and everything left after you get the engine out is worth about $13 per hundred taking it across the scales.

I tried to sell one (sans motor) for $5 or 2 cans of brake cleaner and had no takers, so I cut it up with a plasma cutter and sold off panels and made like $400-$500. The second one I had (about 18 month ago) I again tried selling it (no motor) and then again tried the 2 cans of brake cleaner trade and there were no takers. I ended up giving it away to a junk hauler who turned around and put it up on ebay and got $350 for it. The 3rd one I've had now for about a year (given to me) and my 3-yr-old started calling it his race car. So I'm in the middle of putting a cage in it and have an ex scca motor (circa 1985) sitting on tmsmith's 3 speed tranny (no first gear) that I'm putting in it. That hydrolastic should be interesting on the track. There's no means to drill and mount a shock on the AA arms to limit the pitching.

Weird things, Americas. I've watched the asking price climb by the hundreds if not thousands over the past 3 years. I've seen automatics listed for $150 and I've seen them listed for $$8500. Don't know if any of them sell, but the asking prices have climbed. Used to be $500 with a motor was the norm.

Body doesn't look half bad.

Engine ( a motor is electric ;-)  ) should be worth much better than $200.

...especially the "rare" manual version.  Seems most AA are automatic

Devin, Are you buying or selling one?  How is your VTEC Mini doing these days, haven't heard a peep, on the other board, in 6 months or better?

You'll never find the missing trim and the wheels don't look right. The 1275 motor might be worth $200.
