I have only seen that warning light on the earlier Jap spec carbed cars. If that is the issue you can run without the catalytic converter i have seen that second sensor disconnected and connected without the cat.

If your cars are UK spec it is probably something to do with the remote alarm system.

I'm having the same issue. 1993 spi Rover mini beeps randomly not consistent as if it were a loose wire somewhere. I can't figure out what it is. Checked all fluid levels, thought it was maybe a seat belt sensor but I don't have one. Its the same noise when you first initially start the car. I feel like it Started doing it after I had an amplifier installed for my stereo? Any ideas, thoughts, . I've searched all over for what could cause this noise.

I have a 96 mini and it runs great. However, today for the first time ever while I've owned the vehicle there was a beep right before I turned the key to start the car. At that spot where the radio comes on but the car hasn't been started yet. I know the beep isn't the radio and it hasn't done it before today. Does anyone know what this means and if I should be worried about it?

Thanks for any help you can provide.
