Oh, right.  Thanks Terry.  The "fan tropi-cal" is out of the picture altogether.  I've got a BMW K1100 twin cam head on an A-Series engine.  The radiator is mounted into a cut inner fender and I have considerable distance between the engine and the rad (3.5 + inches).  I am plannning on making a slotted cover to fit over the wheel side of the radiator to protect it from rocks and such.  I could post a photo to clarify if needed.

I have my mini set up with a tropical fan and an electric fan on the rad, between the rad and the inner fender pulling air out.

check out the official website for updates!!!!!  //www.minimeetnorth.com

I've got a Mk3 fan shroud that mounts on the engine side of the radiator and an aftermarket electric fan that is set up as a pusher type now.  I could just bolt the fan to the shroud and leave it at that, but I'm wondering if it might be worth the work to recess the fan into the shroud and bring it closer to the radiator.  I know it would be more efficient set up like that without the shroud, and I guess that's another alternative, but do you think it would be even better with the shroud and fan combo?

Alternatives:

1. Fan mounted directly on radiator with no shroud

2. Fan mounted on the outside of the original shroud

3. Fan mounted on the original shroud, but recessed into it so the fan is close to the radiator

Let's hear some opinions and don't leave out your reasoning and engineering calculations, cuz I are an en-ginn-ear two an' I unerstan that kine uh talk.
