Here's the actual picnic basket in the rear of "Grandma" my former '62 Austin Countryman.

My wife picked it up at a furniture store, so 'off the shelf'. As far as historical significance to our beloved Minis, it was common to slip a picnic basket under the rear seat or in the boot of an early Mini Saloon back in the day, for a family outing, etc. I don't own a Saloon right now, so I'm not positive iffens it's a spot on fit under the rear seat. Plenty of room in the back of a Wagon though! Early advertisements abound. No, I have no connections in San Fran sorry. Yes, probably cost prohibitive to ship to Canada. It's not one of the high end English China Sets, so I probably wouldn't go too far out of my way. It does look like a "period" piece though.               Mini Estate

Hey Rick,

I may be interested. Is this an off the shelf type thing or is there some sort of historical connection to our beloved Minis? I know it would be tough finding something like this that would fit under a seat. Being as we are in Canada is may be cost prohibitive to send it this way. We are planning a trip to San Fran. in Oct. Do you have connections there?

Ron

Someone should be able to use it. How about $15 plus shipping. It's already boxed and ready to go. Thanks!    Mini Estate

Hi All,

Just add a blanket! I have (1) wicker picnic basket with a service for four never used. Nice for the back of your Mini Woody Wagon, or place it under the rear seat of your Mini Saloon. The latch is damaged, but it still fastens. $20 plus postage. Thank you.
