For what it is worth.  sracer.com no longer has Mini stuff.  it is now a site for a company that makes gaming chairs.

Another plug for Jon in the Bay Area.  Not mentioned yet....high quality stuff for sure but, Jon travels abroad a lot, often for many weeks at a time.  So if he's not responsive to phone/email it's most often because he's traveling.   Worth waiting for unless you have an emergency order to get your mini back and running and he's not available.  J

I've been dealing with Jon for 15+ years. His products are excellent, he is very knowledgable, and he has a wicked sense of humor. He has a steller reputation here in the Bay Area.

Thanks, everyone, for the feedback. Sounds like great products from a stand-up guy.

I have some of Jon's items on my cars. I can personally say, regardless of where the items are manufactured or sold, Jon stands behind all his products. He is a good guy as well.

This isn't a debate betwen buying from Don versus SRacer, this is about providing feedback about SRacer.

As far as offshore, a lot of the Mini parts, including the MIni itself, is produced from offshore.

SRacer stuff is the same good stuff wherever purchased from.

what isn't produced offshore nowadays?

If you're in North America, the whole car was produced offshore. Everything about the Mini is imported. If US residents want all domestic craftsmen, buy a '67 Mustang.

I've purchased SRacer parts from John where he had shipped them to me, from retailers who carry his parts and from him directly.  In fact when I went to his house in Oakland one time to pick up my front swaybar, he told me to go ahead and pull into his shop and he installed it for me free of charge.

He he is a stand up business man, just more comfortable as a supplier than retail salesperson, but you have absolutely nothing to be concerned about.

No problems and everything I have bought is great years after I put it on the car. It is hard for me to understand John on the phone with his accent.

I have a handful of SRacer parts on my classic.  In my opinion the quality is in the upper eschelon as far as classic Mini parts go.  You don't have to buy direct from them as the major classic Mini parts distributors sell their stuff.

HI

I'm consideirng buying some stuff from "sracer"

//www.sracer.com

Spoke with John Koo but still seems a little sketchy... No online ordering, only takes a money order, etc. Forum search seems to show that some people have bought from him but looking for some more recent feedback. Safe to order? THANKS
